As in the citizens. would it just be ciudadanos de ecuador? or is there a word. thanks

is it "ecuatorianos"? also, do you capitalize "ecuatorianos " or "ecuador" in formal writing?

It´s "ecuatorianos" with small letter cause it ´s an adjective and contrary to the English language adjectives and nouns deriving from place names take small letters. For eg:

un francés= a Frenchman

Ecuador takes capital letter cause all countries take the capital letter in spanish.

Its ecuatorianos. And no need to be capitalized, just Ecuador.

ecuatorianos. As opposed to English, in Spanish there is no need to capitalize.

ecuatorianos, and you dont need to capitalize unless it is the first word of your sentence.
