Well, I'm more or less refining someone else's question, and don't really care, but if celebrating passover was good enough for Jesus (as it is said that he did in the bible), then why isn't it good enough for you?...

The point would be, that if Jesus still practiced it, and Jesus lived his life by example, was the light of the world, and whatnot, then wouldn't it be preferabl to follow his example?... Doesn't it seem a bit contradictory to say, "Well, we don't have to do what Jesus did anymore, because Jesus died, and he made that kind of stuff no longer matter." ? Did his death and resurection invalidate anything else he did in his life?

wow. what sad answers.

free from the law, its jewish, all typical.

Basically they don't want to. They like PAGAN easter instead.

Its not Jewish. Jewish people say that, not the Bible. You are Pharisees! Listening to men! The Bible says they are the feasts of the L-rd...no of the Jews.

hypocrites

I am Christian, and so I celebrate the Passover; Christ became our Passover, not our "easter". "easter" was a mistranslation, one time in the Book of Acts, but if you look at it in the Greek in the manuscripts, you will find that what was actually written was "Passo", or Passover.
Other than the one mistranslation, easter never appears in the Scriptures. It is an insult to the highest, most sacred day of Christianity, and mocks the very blood shed on the Cross.
To answer your question, I think maybe people just think that because their church participates, that its okay. Well, its not okay.
Ezekiel chapter 40 and all the way to the end is what we will be doing after Christ returns, and although Passover will be celebrated, easter isn't mentioned, and I assure you will not be celebrated. Why?
Because its not Christian, thats why.
For those who want to say that Christ was
a "jew", yes, He was born in the bloodline of the Tribe of Judah, making Him a "jew", but He was also the first and the Creator of Christianity. Who is Christian if not for Jesus Christ Himself? What did Christ celebrate? Passover, of course.
Ignorance is bliss i suppose........

Jesus was an ethnic and religious Jew. Most Christians aren't ethnic Jews. Passover commemorates when the spirit of God passed through Egypt killing the first born of any household that didn't have the blood of the lamb on their lintels (door frame). It was the final plague that convinced Pharaoh to let the Israeli slaves go free. Now, some Christian denominations have an agape meal on Maundy Thursday that is like a Passover meal to commemorate what Christ was doing the night He was betrayed and handed over to the authorities.

Actually, I attended a Passover Seder Friday night, and I'm a Christian. Some denominations DO still celebrate passover.

Because we believe passover was for back then when the angel of death was going around. Now we have Jesus.

In passover they had a lamb whose blood was painted on the door.

The lamb is Jesus whose spilled blood is painted on our hearts.

We no longer need passover. And btw Christians still recognize passover they just don't take part in it.

Now heres my question to you Jews why don't you kill lambs for passover anymore?

Jesus fulfilled the Law. Under the Law they celebrate the passover which is jewish tradition. Jesus is the lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.

Many, many of us do.

I am honored to share in the psalms of the Hallel with Jesus and have several Passover Haggadah

Also, in a sense, every Catholic mass is a celebration of one very famous passover meal.

Also, the word "Easter" is blessed by God and as we honor this day in His name He blesses us back. He is not superstitious and can transcend any previous meaning for something and redeem it.

Why should they? They'd only try to stick jesus into a holiday that preceded his supposed existence by an eon and a half, anyway..
Of course, Ostara also preceded that date, but I will let the followers of Ostara fight that battle...

They do except for Christians it is called the Lord's evening meal and Jesus himself commanded his followers to observe this and only this Memorial.
Luke 22:19 Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body which is to be given in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me."
What I want to know is why do Christians today, ignore the one observance Jesus commanded, and instead, observe things not commanded. Things like Easter, Christmas, Lent, Advent, Pentecost?
