i have lost trust with men!!!! i was hurt by my ex boyfriend emotionally and am now worried to get close to someone else incase they do the same. me and my boyfriend split about 3months ago and i have met someone else and have gone on several dates but am struggling to be close to him, he knows the situation but i am scared he wont be able to wait. and when i feel comfortable with having a relationship it will be too late.
this new person is lovely, completely different to my ex and all my friends say he is real nice and i know this but i just cant get close to him at the moment.
my question is will he be willing to wait?

You are struggling to get close to him for fear of experiencing the pain of your ex. that's okay it is a defense mechanism, perfectly normal. You have not given yourself time to heal, it is important that you focus on you and let this new person focus on you. It is okay to be selfish sometimes. do not let the new person be a substitute for loneliness, this would be unfair, because you will eventually hurt him.
Let the closeness come naturally ease into it, and after a while you will be says ex who?

Maybe...maybe not.
It's the risk you will be taking. Some men will wait and some won't, it depends on so many factors. One man will wait on one girl and then not wait on another. There is just no way too tell. Please don't listen to the fools who tell you "if he isn't willing to wait then he isn't a good guy" BS. He could be the most wonderful guy in the world, but he might not wait for you in this point in HIS life. See it really isn't about you, it's about him. That is the risk you have to take. It's your problem you have to get over, don't expect him to have to put up with it. He doesn't know if you are right for him, so he has to weigh his options too.

I am sure you have been hurt but all guys aint the same. Just take it slow with this guy. And you can't really punish him for what the others guy has done to you that isn't fair to him and that will push him away fast.
