I cannot answer the question, The only thing that I can say on
the subject is in regards to kundalini yoga, and it is this: If one is to practise the ritual of kundalini yoga, one should have an adept master to guide one through the procedure. This can be a very lethal art to practise if a master is not present. The raging fire in the base chakara is sometimes known to get out of control! Caution is an excellent choice...

Was the founder a Sikh? I'm surprised. I would have expected him / her to have been Hindu.
I can't see any other connection at all.
We all have Kundalini energy and the exercises to awaken it are hardly exclusive to any one religion.
So, I don't think there is any connection.
