usually the airline you are flying recommends you arrive at the airport 2-3 hours before departure. It usually says on your ticket statement how long you should be at the airport for before your flight is due to depart. If you are not sure contact the airline and/or the travel agency you booked with.

Normally, most airports require that you be there at least 1- 2 hours before your flight. HOWEVER, during a holiday season, it would be in your best bet to be at the airport at least 3-4 hours before your flight leaves. Some airlines allow you to check in luggage up to four hours, but not less than 1 hour. For international flights I would advise 4 hours minimum.

I always give myself at least 2 hours for a domestic flight and 3 hours for an international or US flight. (I'm Canadian.)
I'm usually through check-in, security and customs (when I'm flying to the states) in a half hour or so, but I still don't want to risk missing a flight if something were to go wrong. You just never know when there will be a problem that might slow the whole process down.
I just bring a good book, and enjoy it over a leisurely breakfast at one of the restaurants in the terminal.

It depends if it's a local or international flight. Local is about 1.5 hours, international can be up to 4 hours depending on where you are going. Look at the airline website- it should tell you.

With Silverjet you only have to check in 30 minutes before your flight because they've abolished check-in and you just go straight to a luxury lounge at their private terminal. They only fly London-New York right now but they're going to expand. Like the man says, way to go...
