Now that depends on the person and what you are suffering with. for the most part I would say seek medical advice as they will for the most part now how to help and the best way forward. Never suffer in silence as no one should be left not liking them selves or there life. Try to focus on whats good in your life. yes I know thats easier to say then do. I often look an how other peoples lives are worse then mine. and remember there is always someone that cares.
take care

You need to see a doctor and get on some anti-depressants. If within a month to month and a half you don't feel even a little better, try a different medicine. Doctors like to say that the medicines all do the same thing but that's not true. After being mildly depressed, my doctor put me on Paxil. After increasing the dose several times over a 4 month period, I became suicidal. After hearing that, He switched me to prozac and within just 3 months, I was back to "normal" and within 6 months I was off the medication and able to function 100%.
That's not without saying that while under treatment, I had to make an effort and force myself to get out of bed; force myself to get out into the sunshine; and force myself to interact with people. But I did it and I hope I never get depressed again. i learned what triggered my depression and am careful not to overload myslef with too much change or stress at one time.
I was suicidal and felt like I had walls all around me and no escape from my pain. But there is treatment so please seek it.

There are help lines you can call to help through the suicidal thoughts, but by all means, please, find a doctor-

You can't just 'get out' of severe depression,
I speak from experience so please listen-

This is nothing you can 'will away'-
It doesn't mean you are weak,
it doesn't mean anything bad about you-
you just need a little nudge in the right direction-

Any help line or hot line- often have an 800 number-
around here, they have a local hot line, and if you call it,
and they feel you need to be seen, they will come to your home, evaluate you, and offer you a place in a crisis unit,
so that you can get the immediate one on one care that you are needing so badly,,,,,
Try this-OK? Just please, don't hurt yourself or take your life,
I don't even know you and I am already worried about you!!!

Call someone, you aren't alone,
therefore, there is no reason why you should have to feel that way!!!!
I will be thinking of you,
Good luck to you,,,

Go see someone who can help you and stay away from the kind of people who take pleasure in trying to make you fall off the edge...

Call or go to see anyone... A priest, a pastor, a rabbi, call the hotline... anyone who you can talk to immediately at least until you can get an appointment.

I am surrounded by people doing just such a thing to me right now... Most of them don't like me and rather than tell me exactly why... they prefer talking behind my back and making snide little comments.

You can only push a person so far before they hurt themselves... People don't care in this day and age and I honestly think that sooner or later, government will actually consider bringing back public execution via lions and dogs...

I honestly believe that the morbid bloodlust in society would rather enjoy that as a form of entertainment on a saturday night...

Im sorry you feel that way and I hope you actively seek out someone who can help you...

Just remember. Love and compassion is there to find if you really want it. and it doesn't always hurt when you open yourself up to the right kinds of people. Admit your mistakes and clean your slate and empower yourself to be able to move on from whatever it hurting you.

I'll pray for you because I feel that you are not just another one of the kids on here that just say that over and over again to get attention... Im sorry you are hurting sweetheart... Someone understands.

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

It is important to see a doctor first, in case it is thyroid related, or clinical depression, but, because medication & counselling can take time to be effective, practice the following: gaze at a burning candle in a quiet, darkened room, or use the method at http://www.dbtselfhelp.com/ and any stray thoughts should be acknowledged and attention gently redirected to the process. Both are most effective if practiced for 20 mins, morning , afternoon, and evening. Exercise vigorously for 30 - 60 mins daily, eat healthily, and keep occupied, taking a vitamin B complex, and 4 fish oil supplements daily as well. See http://www.beattheblues.info/? 1. You need to see a doctor for help.

2. Volunteering to help other less advantaged people may make you realise how fortunate you are.

3. Identifying the source of your depression can help you address the root of the problem.

4. Killing yourself is not the solution. You can be strong to overcome whatever difficulties that you have. Think about those who have survived against all odds despite their background or disabilities.

I recommend Meditation than Medication. Just root out the cause of your depression. Know your life is precious and you can contribute many good things to the world.. Life is to be lived and enjoyed and not to be ended. Only cowards will think of suicide you have many otherthings to do beside..now
you decide.
