It was first used in the days of the old Raj in India to help keep malaria at bay , i think !!

Quinine is used to control malaria,
Adding Gin made it more palatable.

I don't know who thought of it but it prevents malaria so I'm sure it had something to do with that. It used to be in Bacardi Breezers actually but I think they took it out.

honestly i dont know but after all this time humans have had to take something and mix it with another and test it, it probably wasn't some big scientist. it may have been some unknown person from some small village.

First answer you got is right,but also to weaken Gin down (you could`ent trust the water).
