I'm as cashier and I'm afraid that people will get annoyed, this is why I don't say "happy easter" or "merry christmas" either, unless they say it to me. If they say "happy easter" then I will repeat it back. But otherwise, I say "have a great day" like any other day.

No they are just being curtious and how would they know you do or do not celebrate it. Just be polite they are doing their jobs, All these jobs you mentioned i.e " store clerks, waitors, cashiers, ect" They more then likely don't give a rats behind if you do or don't but are required by their boss's to say it. LIVE WITH IT, OR WEAR A TATOO ON YOUR HEAD ADVISING PEOPLE YOU DON'T LIKE IT.

Not really. It's a cute holiday with the bunnies and eggs. Besides, I think of it as the old fertility festival it started out as, before it was corrupted by religion. That's more fun. And I say it, too. It's Spring, the days are getting warmer and longer, what's not to like?

Nope. I think everyone has the right to celebrate, including my own right not to. I just take it for what it is: a stranger's wish for joy on that day. My usual response is, 'Thank you, you also." I have the right to celebrate, or not. I show my appreciation and respect for that right by not crapping on the beliefs of others, especially when they are just wishing me a happy day. Yes, it bugs me sometimes, but I try to do my best to keep it to myself.

It's really not that big of a deal. They are just trying to be polite. Well Happy Day that you Don't Celebrate. Is that better? LOL

Not at all. It is not as if I have a sign around my neck that says what Holidays I care to observe. So they are just being kind and friendly.Last time I looked there was nothing wrong with that.
