This is essentially a leadership issue NOT a military issue. Our leaders have failed to provide economic and political security throughout the occupation of Iraq... lack of security in both of those arenas makes it impossible to provide an adequate police force making it dangerous for civilians and the armed forces there.
This is not humiliating the forces... they are just doing their jobs following the orders of our political leaders. You would not criticize the factory workers for manufacturing a defective baby seat you would criticize the executives that allowed the production of it.

I find it intersting how so many of the postings here like to believe that the present war in Iraq has anything to do with those wars that were fought for the liberation of a people and the present freedoms of the United States... That is an absurd connection which is completely baseless. World War II was our shining moment in defense of an ideal. All of the Allies, ourselves included, that fought against the German and Japanese militaries - were heroes - any World War II veteran would tell you so... All of these skirmishes since then do nothing but agitate the world at large which is what fosters terrorism. (Any World War II veteran would most likely tell you this as well.) Terrorism is often the only response that can be executed by a small group with limited resources. Terrorism does not simply spring forth from nowhere - it is a response to the policies of governments. Once we become a country that is truly respectful of the ideals and cultures of other countries and limit our exploitation of said countries, you would find terrorism decrease dramatically. There is a direct correlation - bad policies = terrorism. It's not brain surgery.

The only way those troops are going to be humiliated is if we tell them that they can't do their job and we are quitting on this war. You saying these things is not beneficial to anyone. You have to recognize that there are many factors at play here, and no one, Republican or Democrat can see into the future to fully understand all the nuances that any military conflict will have. This IS a just war, Saddam was a truly evil person and we put a stop to a regime on a level with Hitler's. That said, the search for Osama continues, at least on paper. Odds are he's dead, or we found him a long time ago. Stop getting your opinions from CNN and do some thinking for yourself.

The only one who has lost is you.
Because you haven't done anything for the nation, while you whine about this or that when you, yourself have nothiing to do with either the decision-making process of its effects on the ground.
Generations will forget all of you who whine from the sidelines while the people who screwed the troops over will be rightly villified, and the troops who have performed their duty will be remembered with honor.
You, yourself will be forgotten. And the crushing bit of that is, throughout your whole life, you won't ever know the truth behind the news, or what really went on in the ground, and you will never have truly fought for anything you believed in.
Enjoy your mindless bit of internet protesting.

I don't feel our troops are being humiliated. It takes great courage and a great love of peace to sacrifice one's life for a greater good when what they could have done was just blow that place completely off the map years ago.

Thanks....
Your comments go along way to helping demoralize troops. It's not bad enough that CNN and MSNBC have declared this war lost but we have to listen to ignorant libtards like you who have no clue what REALLY goes on here try to tell us something you know nothing about.

As long as necessary.
You've chosen your side in WWIII. We see you.
Your ideology is not more important than the survival of this nation. Your contributions are sedition and siding with our enemies.
You have my contempt.
