and finding all the animals.....and what about the amphibians who need both water and land.....and what about the extremely limited genetic diversity of exactly 2 of everything......and what about ants that are social insects.........I am thinking the entire Bible is crap.... but a good way to herd human sheep who are weak and pathetic.....

** Question about Noah's Ark?
Seriously. Do any of you homeboys and homegirls really think that actually happened? **
No, not for one minute. It is amazing that folks would believe that such a story as told was even capable of being true.
Myth, and exaggerated legends all.
Trying to account for the many peoples now populating the earth is much more problematic.
According to the Noah story all the people now present came from this small related group of eight. That to me shuts the door on this story possibly being truth.
How did the polar bears get back to the north pole.
What happened to the unicorns.
Is the flood when all the dinosaurs got killed and buried.
How come evil is still present.
Why was Noah still getting drunk and where did he get the
liquor from.
How is natural law suspended so that hunters no longer devour the prey.
How did Noah live for hundreds of years apparently in good enough health to build that boat.
How come they can almost find that boat, yet no valid evidence of the boat is ever forthcoming.
Was incest present by the will of God like in the Adam and Eve story.
The Noah story is too far fetched and unbelievable, it must be symbolic and not actual.

Hmm, well....there is, as usual, a core to this tale, but in order to understand it you have to strip away the layers of mythology and transliteration.
First, it must be understood that the Torah ( Old Testament ) account is not derived from any written history of the Habiru ( Hebrews ). They drew on many written histories from more sophisticated cultures that they encountered during the 'Captivity' in Babylon. Thus we have to look what histories are most likely the source for this story.
There are two main candidates, who, confusingly, are probably the same person, and story. One is Utnapishtim, from the Epic of Gilgamesh, and the other is Ziusudra of the city of Shuruppak, this latter being a less 'legendary' figure than Utnapishtim, though necessarily any less 'real'.
So, the core of the story is the saving of all species of plant and animal by the entering into an 'Ark', and surviving the 'Flood'.
OK, so far ? And by the way, this is the shortest version I can put together, so bear with me.
OK, now here it gets a bit muddy ( like my word choice ? ) because ancient Sumer did experience many inundations, not surprisingly, this was the land of the Two Rivers, Tigris and Euphrates, both being fed by the vast mountain ranges to the north. It would be more surprising if there weren't floods from time to time. The very cause of the fertility of the 'Fertile Crescent' being it's potential nemesis. Some of these floods are evidenced by layerings of silt over 10 feet deep !
But were these the same as the 'Flood' of world-wide scale, told of in myths and legends in over 150 cultures around the globe ?
I think not, but even in this there are two elements. There is evidence that a global, and surely catastrophic event took place around the end of the great Ice Ages, all over the European and Asian Continents are areas were unimaginable numbers of beasts and humans ( I include our much-misunderstood neanderthal cousins in the group 'human' ), most of whom wouldn't be seen ...........well... alive together......they were seen dead together, that's the point. Whole caves ( high in mountainous terrain ! ) full of the bones of creatures from sabre-tooth tigers, hippopotami, horses, mammoth, and us, or at least our would-have-been ancestors, had they survived. In the north of Siberia there is an island almost entirely constructed of the skeletons of mammoth and other large grazing herbivores from the period, to all intents and purposes swept from their Siberian grazing tundra into the vast 'freezer' of the Artic wastes, apparently in an instant.
What could have caused this, and the odd phenomenon of animals ( again, mostly mammoth ) being frozen in an instant, 10,000 years ago, and their meat being edible now ?!?
I have suggested elsewhere that the only thing that could have done this would have been something like a massive tsunami, sweeping these unsuspecting ruminants, still munching their lunch, into the deep freeze of the northern latitudes.
OK, enough of that. The two by two thing.
Here I have to beg your extreme indulgence.
This was not a matter of actual animals climbing up a gangplank onto a boat. It is a rendering of a story beyond the capability to imagine of our forefathers of this epoch, so they did their best to interprete a tale too complex for them to comprehend.
It is the story ( I believe ) of how we left our former home ( I mean planetary ), and brought all the genetic material with us, in order to re-populate our new home, Earth. If an advanced species were flee their former home, due to slome catastrophic collapse of it's environment, for whatever reason, what would they do ?
I suggest that they would try to pack as much of their world into the smallest physical space possible. In the case of organic life, to isolate genetic material would be the most compact way to do this.
If this is little too wild for you then just forget it. But many have had glimpses of a 'larger' past, in which the stories that we have do not seem to account for what is. to those people maybe this explanation will make sense. For me the idea that our species just dropped out of the trees a few hundred thousand years ago, ands has had a slow, and very laborious, up-hill struggle to achieve a modest, linear progression to the 'pinnacle' that we occupy now, just doesn't make sense, nor does it 'feel' right. Since childhood I have had the distinct idea that we have been going through cycles of sophistication, complex and primitive for countless millenia. And it seems to me that the start point was rather higher than lower.
As in all 'myths', there is a core of truth, sometimes that truth can be too big to grasp. Yet.

Yes and No.... Yes i do beleive it happened but not quite the way writers of the bible have taken this story.
I can see a man doing this taking two of each to try and save them from mother natures distruction.
No because the ark has been found but is one of those things that are being left untouched so it doesnt hurt the catholic religion. I would like to know the reasons why????Science and Discovery Play such a huge role these days that things are being proven wrong. People go to great lenghts to cover up the truth. PERIOD. We see and hear it everyday in our lives.
Alot of the "ways" are stories fiction really to make it more appealing. Just not beliveable

The flood never happened. The geological column proves that it never happened. Another fact that proves it is that a boat as big as described in the bable could never even float. Modern boat builders with modern tools and technology can only build wooden boat up to 350ft. And no human being has ever or can live to be 900 years old.

IT did happen just not as the bible says it did . the story is true just embeleshished a bit . it happened on a greek island or penisula they say the whole town is still under water . NOAH Ark is a story from greek religion not christian . I will research the city name so you can see the pictures. it was true you just have to understand people didnt know what we know today they thought the world was flat in those days ans the world was only as large as you can see with your eyes. when you consider that you can see how the story came to be .

Since the concept of a World Wide flood is real and we, humans, are still here, it tends to give a certain amount of credibility to the TRUE story of Noah and the Flood.
I won't even mention the boat sitting on top of a mountain that was first spotted during World War Two.

According to Joseph Silver (architect-engineer), the boat was seaworthy and buildable. There was recently a documentary about this very topic on the history channel (where I first heard of him)
As far as the animals, I know the ark would hold huge numbers from the specs. in his document (see the link below), but gathering them together would be quite a challgenge.

Well I dont know if it did happen but if it did it was likely that Noah only had pairs of animals native to his region and the boat would be considerably smaller than you tend to think.
