Smoking is the single most selfish thing anybody can do; it kills you, plus as a bonus everyone around you and makes everybody around you smell like a smoker. It is also a fire hazard when you stub your ciggie out or empty the ashtray into a bin if the ciggie is not out properly. Thanks to every single smoker you are more lethal than a loaded gun at least with a bullet you have a change to dodge with smoking you have no choice we all breathe.

America's anti-smoking crusade has swept onto the shores of Europe. In cafes in Paris and Rome today, the words "No smoking" now hangs on the walls. Of course, America's crusade against smoking started as a result of escalating medical costs. Lung cancer puts a financial strain on medical plans. Paris and Rome have found this also to be true and have joined the crusade to snuff out tobacco. So what has happened? Third world countries have seen many of its citizens now smoking. The giant corporations that sell tobacco need new buyers, and they have found plenty in Third World countries.

I'm sitting here in a room with someone who stopped smoking about 20 years ago. He has a hose connected to his nose at all times, so he can get enough oxygen to survive. He has a lung disease that will eventually kill him.

His wife had part of one lung removed, it was about 3 years ago. She had quit smoking about 15 years before they found the cancer. I heard the dr. tell her that the only reason she would survive the removal of the cancer was because she did stop smoking and her other lung was strong.

I smoked for many years and stopped. My dad smoked for 40 years and stopped but still suffers from the effects of it. He is short-winded and loses energy alot.

If you smoke, please, for you own good stop now. It only takes 2 days to get the drug out of your system, once you stop putting it in. Once you quit, you will wonder why you didn't do it long ago. It will set you free from the addiction to the drug. Better for your health, and you will smell much better!

I can also tell you a long story about a family who had 5 people die from lung cancer. The only one to survive was the one who still lives today, she is 85 years old and she is a nurse. She had the privledge of nursing her 2 sisters, her father and brother-inlaw to death. The last one she nursed to his death was her husband. I knew him well, he and I would stand outside his house (they lived next to me) and we would chat and smoke. The nurse who still lives a heathly life, she NEVER smoked. But she does live alone in a big house which once was a place where her entire family lived together. Sad!

Hi Nicholas,
I think, you can write something like that.
We can explain something about Passive Smoking.
"Passive smoking is a quide widespread, important and avoidable risk factor for respiratory symptoms in children. Reducing passive smoking in the community will have a large positive effect on respiratory system and consequently children’s health."

Regards

It's expensive, stinky, and does cause lots of medical problems. I smoked for 30+ years and spent at least $20,000. That is why I quit 3 years ago.

The world is over populated so people who smoke are helping (in their own way), not to sound cruel but it's a preference just like anything else.

ciao, nicola; dunque ti scrivo 4 linee su fumare:
smoking is dangerous to one's health, most of all for consum ing all vitamins C in the organism, so rendering its defence less successful! He who smokes must intake lots of vitamins C and E, for both act as antioxidant agents!
spero che questo cenno ti andra' bene!
