I had a dog once that started having seizures. His first one came out of the blue at like 11pm at night. My husband was at work and I called him to come home I did not know what was wrong with him. We took him right away to the 24 hour animal hospital and they said it sounded to them like he had a seizure and that is wat all the signs led to. They had us track hi seizures. (It sounds like you are already doing )that. We took him to our vet the next day and he also told us to track his seizures, they said they needed to know the frequency and and how long they lasted etc. so they knew the right dosage of meds to give him. He was only 11 months old when he had his first one. I guess what I am saying is talk to the vet and they can give him the proper dosage of meds. My dogs was not having them nearly as often as yours so I do not know how long it will take your dogs meds to help. My dog had them on average of 1 a week. It took the meds about 2 weeks to slow them down. He did still have them sometimes but they were not as bad as they used to be. Hope that helps and best of luck to you.

Sometimes a dog can have epilepsy but wont display symptoms until it is either aggravated by an illness, or they get to a certain maturity. There is no herbal remedy to stave off the seizure as you dont know what the triggers are. About all you can do is wait for the medication to take effect, which can take a while as some treatments dont work but others do depending on the dog and the cause of the epilepsy. How much drainex did he ingest? It mightnt be epilepsy at all, if he ingested more than you think, it may have done damage thats causing the seizures, liver and kidney damage, irritated bowels, fluid on the brain. Or he may even be reacting to the shots he was given. No offence to your vet but i would take your dog to another vet, ask for a second opinion but only give them the details of the original poisoning, the symptoms and the names of the meds the first vet gave your dog. They may just come up with something else.

There is no 'remedy' for seizures, he needs drugs from the vet. Once an hour is very frequent, so I hope he is still at the vets!
Idiopathic epilepsy is treated with phenobarbitol, and sometimes potassium bromide to complement this.
I'm assuming the seizures are to do with the drain cleaner, although epilepsy is common in dalmatians anyway. If it is from the Drainex, it may be possible to stabilize the seizures with a muscle relaxant (valium) until he is completely over the toxicity. Presumably you've discussed this with your vet and he will be able to tell you the most appropriate treatment, and if this is likely to be long-term or not.

My in-laws have a german shephard that has epilepsy. They found out when he was only a few months old. He takes meds dialy and now at 5 yrs old very rarely has an attack. Keep him under care of the vet , make sure they know he's still having the attacks & the frequency and they will be able to get the right dosage to control the attacks.

There really isn't anything you can do to stop the seizures. If it is caused by the Drainex, you are just going to have to wait until it is out of his system. They could probably hospitalize him and give him valium as needed to calm him and try to reduce the seizures. If they still continue longer than what it would seem to have the chemical out of his system, he may need to go on a drug called phenobarbital, which would help control the seizures. Definitely talk to your veterinarian, and if you still don't feel comfortable, always get a second opinion from another. Good luck!

We had a Golden Retriever earlier than and when she went old she obtained epileptic attacks. We put her down to sleep. But your dog is young, so i'm hoping the vets find a therapy. I wish you good success!
