It would take six pages to write about what caused World
War 1 because the politics behind it all are complex.........
but to summarize in just two words: militarism and nationalism. The straw that broke the camels back started on June 28, 1914, Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated while visiting Sarajevo. At first, it appeared to be another Balkan crisis that might pass without a major disturbance, but a month later, Austria severed relations with Serbia, a move that preceded war by only a few days. Germany stood back of Austria's actions, while Russia stepped forward to defend it small Balkan friend. Despite frantic efforts by would-be peacemakers to localize the war, it spread rapidly, involving next France and Belgium, and soon Great Britain and members of the common wealth Australia and Canada.

World War 2 is direct cause an affect of World War 1
the Treaty of Versailles did not resolve the problems.
Reparations left many people in the victorious nations feeling guilty. The loss of all that land to other countries simply made Hitler's early aggression look justified. Self-determination surrounded Germany by a lot of small nation states that fell easy prey to Germany. But, most of all, the Treaty made the Germans angry, just waiting their chance for revenge.

World War 1: 28 June 1914, a Bosnian Serb succeeded in assassinating the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Franz Ferdinand. Austria-Hungary's demands for revenge against the Kingdom of Serbia led to the activation of a series of alliances which within weeks saw most European powers at war. Because of the global empires of many European nations, the war soon spread worldwide. World War 2: Germany, under Hitler, and its axis allies, invaded Poland. After an unchallenged annexing campaign that took in Austria and other small nations - Germany made agreements with Britain and France that it would not further its annexing. The Polish invasion violated that. Britain and France declared war on Germany. there is also speculation that this decision to declare war was oil based, as Hitler could easily have taken the Middle East with Poland and Czechoslovakia annexed paving a way and its treaty with Russia. 9/11 was seemingly sparked by Bush's 'War On Terror'. His ignorant actions in terms of WMDs in Iraq and the invasion enraged the Middle East. FBI and CIA documents, that were ignored, warned of such a planned attack before the Iraqi invasion, this could have been coincidence as there is no flawless evidence that it was in relation to 9/11. Still, it was an attack that would have required quite a lot of planning. So, I would say 2 of 3. The instgation of WW1 and the 9/11 attacks seem to me to be terrorist activities.

WW1 was started by a terrorist group called the Black Hand Gang which assasinated an Austrian Archduke, but that wasn't the real reason for the war. Tensions had been rising for years. It was inevitable; the assasination just lit a barrel of gunpowder which was already there.

WW2 wasn't started by terrorists in any sense of the term. It was started by armies and governments.

War on Terror isn't really a war in any sense of the word, and it's hard to say exactly who started it. Some would say it started on 9/11, others would say it started much earlier.

(And what do the world wars have to do with American history? Not a single battle was fought in America, and both wars were well underway before America entered. There is a world beyond your borders...)

You and your brother are both products of a broken educational system. It frightens me that you have the right to vote. That is obviously how our nation got in the mess it is in.

World War I was started by Serbian Terrorist who assasinated the Austrian Archduke and his wife. Hitler was only a common soldier in that war an Japan was our "Ally"

Both Hitlers Germany and Japan were our enemies in World War II but it was NOT started by terrorist. The Japanese attacked Pearl harbor and Germany declared war on us a few days later.

Maddie, WW I actually began some 30 years prior to the fist shots having been fired. That, being the diplomatic negotiations of Otto von Bismarck, who set everything up, much like a stack of dried wood with kindling at its base. But, to answer your question, it was a plot carried out by members of The Black Hand, with the assiniation of Arch Duke Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. And just to sweeten your pot, the Black Hand was a Muslim organization and the Arch Duke was Catholic.
As for WW II, Woodrow Wilson, like von Bismarck, set up WW II at the conclusion of WW I. As Germany was falling at the end of WW I, a new government stepped in (The Weimar Republic). It was very weak and mismanaged from the onset. Germany began to mimmick everything the U.S. was doing and so, when the stock market crashed here, it did there as well. This cleared the way for Adolf Hitler to seize power.
In Japan, their once isolationist mindset suddenly reversed itself and they began an extreme course of expansionism. They invaded what is now China (then Manchuria), and Singapore and the U.S. saw this as a direct threat to international trade. The U.S. slapped sanctions on Japan's oil and steel imports -- these were the acts that lead Japan to attack the U.S. militarily at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and also in the Philippines. I would not classify the Japanese or Nazi German governments as "terrorist."

It was a Serbian terrorst Gavrilo Prinzip that murdered the Austro-Hungarian Arch Duke and Arch Duchess Ferdiand. When the assaisination was traced back to a secret Serbian nationalist society "The Black Hand" Austria threatened to invade Serbia as retrubution and Russia mobilized against Austria. As alliances began to bring in more participants you had World War One.

That depends. Are terrists from some obscure country called terria? Maybe just to the left of Serbia? World war one began with a political assassination by a militant group so...yes, you could argue that. World war 2? No. War on terror.. I would guess so considering it's in the name and everything.
