Can you show me any where from any Catholic sources that we believe that the pope is God? If not can you quit spreading lies?

The Pope is not in the place of Christ. He is his representative. Why do you guys have pastors? Is that the same thing? doesn't someone have to be in charge?

The Pope is the Pastor of the entire Church. His infallibility only applies when he is speaking ex cathedra on matters of doctine and faith in union with all the bishops of the world. It has nothing to do with his personal life. The Pope has to go to confession like any other Catholic.
In the Renaissance there were very worldly popes but they did not get invovled with doctrine.
Some had children but many became cardinals without being ordained as priest. One was actually
elected Pope without being ordained and was ordained about 2 weeks prior to being consecrated as Pope.
I don't think Catholics, at least today, show their respect by kissiing the Pope's feet. They might kiss his ring as well as the ring of other bishops.

Funny, I was raised Catholic, no one ever cc'd me that the Pope was God? What rock have I been hiding out under? As far as I ever knew, he was the head of the Church, and emissary for the presence of the Christ on earth... a leader, a teacher..... While I might have been taught to value him as holy, I don't think anybody ever told me he was an object of worship... to be venerated as an intermediary perhaps, but no one ever told me to regard him as anything other than a man, if a holy one.... where do people get ideas like that? Is that really what non Catholics think? *shrug*

I don't believe Catholics worship the pope anymore than I believe they worship saints or idols.
However, I do believe it is proper to worship your wife, and kissing is just one way to do it ;)
Blessings!

In his book "this is the faith" by Canon Francis Ripley, page 380 states that the pope is in place of Jesus Christ here on earth... I don't know about you, but I don't need ANYBODY in place of Jesus in my life!
I do agree that you will not find it anywhere that a catholic "worships" the pope, but this is bad enough to me. If you don't agree, let me know. Have a good Easter!
This book is a "complete explanation of the catholic church"
Riple is a priest of the catholic missionary society.

Sorry Fish, you didn't provide any Catholic source that teaches that we believe the Pope is God. Try again.
There is no requirement to kiss his ring.
You're wrong, Fish, and that's the problem with you guys - you keep telling us what we believe and we keep telling you we DON'T believe that, yet you insist. Funny stuff!

It depends who the focus is on in the worship. God or the Pope.

When you bow before someone and kiss his ring, you do. The only one I bow to is God.
Spiritroaminng, that's the problem with you guys. You can't read. I would never say the pope is god. Far from it . I said you worship him.

I have not said that but you do call him holy Father. and Jesus not only said no one is Holy but God but also call no man Father but God. so putting the 2 together I do think you call the pope God.
