*I* much prefer Borders!!!
But *I'M* not the buying the dog,am I?

I like the temperament & coat care-Borders have NO PATTERN;ALL but a *little* beard & eyebrows are HAND-STRIPPED.
And,they can be GREAT hunt/working terriers.

Do NOT care for the TONS of coat (also HAND-STRIPPED!)& the usual("harder") temperament of Cairns.
Have you *MET* the breeds? Do you know the CORRECT GROOMING REQUIREMENTS? READ the BREED STANDARDS???

These 2 links will give you an informed idea of which is suitable for you. If you are still not sure, contact the breed clubs & ask to be put in touch with a knowledgable owner who will let you meet their dogs & will answer any of your questions.
Remember to find out what health checks the breeds need & make sure any puppy you buy has parents who have been tested.
Good Luck

I don't know about Border Terriers, but I give 2 thumbs up to Cairns. They are big-hearted, big-souled dogs in little bodies. Brave, spirited, and independent without being aloof.

Either are lovely breeds and I could struggle to choose between them. I have a westie which is very simliar to a cairn. Borders are gorgeous though.
I'd have a look at both pups and then one will jump out and you can choose that one. Maybe if you really can't choose go for the cheapest to buy, feed, insure etc....

I luv both breeds, but seeing as how my grandma has a carin terrier that i've grew up with all my life then i'll have too tell you carin terrier. Both breeds are really great. I tried to convince my mom to get me a carin terrier, but I got stuck with a chihuahua. I like him though! I hope you have a good easter too!!!

I am biased, I come from the Borders of Scotland so my choice would be The Border Terrier.
