what gets you into hell (not that i want to go there) but i have been thinking "i shouldn't have done that" and this is silly but i think i have NO chance to get into heaven. so what things do you have to commit to be dammed or eternity?

do you go to hell if you commit suicide?
do you go to hell if you murder?

you get the point.

They reject or deny their creator...

All have sinned and fallen short og the glory of God.
The penalty for sin is death...
But if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart Jesus Christ is Lord you shall be saved.

This is going to be a long answer, because I am not convinced to any length at all that you can't get into heaven. In fact, I know you can because God has shown again and again and again that people do great things not by their good character, but by his power.

This question assumes t hat a series of good behaviors and good deeds will get you into heaven, and a series of bad behaviors and bad deeds will damn you forever. Not so, thanks to easter. Let me go over the story of the prodigal son as a good example.

Summarize: the younger of two sons asks his wealthy father for his part of the inheritence and leaves to go blow all of his money away on wild parties. He has no money when hard times hit, and can't meet his needs. He is ashamed of what he did, and decides to go back to his father and ask to become a servant. When he comes back home, his father holds a huge party for him. The older brother gets ticked because, although he has been loyal to his father, he never got a party thrown in his honor. The father explains, my son once was lost but now was found.

Personalize: The son messed up, and we mess up. Our mess ups include rape, murder, theft, and kicking the family dog. Likewise, like the older son, we've also done good things. Or at least, they are good things in our own minds.

The suprise: both sons were lost. The younger one was lost because he thought his father would not love him for bad things that he did. The older one thought that his father would love him for the good things he did. The truth? Love is love and actions don't make a difference.

Long story short (or rather short story long) because Jesus died for the sins that we already committed or are going to commit, there really isn't any one thing we can do that will condem us (except suicide, because, well, you can't really ask for forgiveness after the fact. You know. You're dead. O.o) God alone has the power to forgive and will forgive. When you ask for forgiveness, you are clean and can be close to God (which is where every glimmer of good feeling comes from). When you are sinful, you leave God, and leave every glimmer of good feeling (hell, in other words). So at EVERY sin YOU send yourself to hell, and God is the only one who can bring you back. Let's just say that he's playing a constant game of fetch with all of us. Lucky for us he is, because no one would ever make it.

That was a mouthful. Happy Easter. :-)

If someone has accepted Jesus as their savior, their sins, past, present and future are forgiven. There is no unforgivable sin.

Of course, this is not a license to sin:

Romans 6

Sin’s Power Is Broken

1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

From a christen view there is no Hell. In the Book of Revelations God it clearly states he will take the chosen to be with him and Destroy the rest and the earth.

How to be gods chosen.
Love God with all your heart and soul
Love your neighbor as yourself.

Things to remember
It is harder for someone who worships money to get into heaven than it is to pass a camel through the eye of a needle.
God dwells in everyone.

Good Luck.

A few decades ago the Catholic Church said that eating meat on Friday caused you to go to Hell if you didn't confess it to a priest before you died. Back then, imagine the power of a Liverwurst Sandwich eaten on Friday.

what thing do you have to do to get into hell....open the door when sin comes knocking?

I'm hoping that hell is a place that, while having lots of space for potential sinners....is mostly left empty though Gods mercy and forgiveness. I sometimes think the very worst of sinners should deserve to be in hell but then again I might be one of them(hope not) and so might be wishing that on myself...sigh.

God has mercy and forgiveness for all who call on the name of Jesus, you can still go no matter what you did, the only thing will get you into hell is denying that Jesus is the son of God and that he raised him from the dead and now made a way for you to receive his holy spirit if you ask Jesus, and when you get it you are forgiven of your old life and old sins, here is how read this page and do it!

Suicide, Yes
Murder, As long as you accept jesus and ask him to forgive you no.

But basically be a good person and you wont go to hell i mean everyone makes mistakes. Dont dwell on them. Just make sure before you die you accept jesus according to the chritian religion. If your another religion like catholic say a few hail maries and if your and easter religion there either is no hell or your screwed no matter what you do and your going to hell anyways.

Every human being basically sins every day , ( a bad thought , swearing , disobedience, murder , lust ,etc..), anything contrary to the word of God . The punishment for sin is eternal damnation in Hell . But God rich in mercy and sinless came to earth as a human being to suffer greatly , shed his innocent blood and , died on the cross as payment the sins for those who will trust and belive in him as their personal savior and to try to do his will .

One sin. in problem-free words Jesus became sinless, so that's in problem-free words by his imputed righteousness that anybody else receives into heaven. Believing in Jesus isn't a license to sin. a real believer will repent and change from their sins. they received't be completely sinless, yet there'll be a tremendous huge difference. if you're a Christian and sin, you're to wish to God for forgiveness. There are going to be sins that you do not you may want to invite forgiveness for. i do not imagine a real Christian would commit homicide. Suicide is homicide of one's self and also you aren't any more going to be alive to precise regret, so that's not counseled. a real believer will be mentally no longer themselves and commit suicide and it no longer be homicide, yet perhaps no longer.

Love sin here and now and you are in hell. Turn from sin, and you no longer need hell in your consciousness. Discover the face of evil so you can begin your warfare against it.
