No, because the U.S. has by far the greatest Navy in the world. Besides our modern ships, our subs could easily decimate any enemy, and if a war were fought on water, we could probably use nukes if the situation were dire because the fallout wold not contaminate any land mass.

Considering the second world war was played out over both land and water, I think it is somewhat obvious.

I doubt it, It will probably be caused BY water, or the need for it. With climate change and mass droughts expected, it wouldnt suprise me if countries started taking water from one another at gunpoint.
