George Carlin may be the most un-spiritual person on earth. But I find him quite funny and intelligent too.

Yes, GC is highly spiritual just out of his complete lack of spirituality. He appeals to people who spend a lot of time perched on rocks by the shore, in the "Thinker" position. His fans tend to think a lot, and tend to really value their spiritual position, even when it eventually percolates down to a strictly rationalist orientation.
A lot of rationalists still see themselves as being spiritual in nature, out of habit, or maybe rationalism really is spiritual, or maybe all that contemplation gives the same effect...
I tend to find that George Carlin fans, and people who are like George Carlin fans, but don't like George Carlin spend a lot more time thinking about their place in the universe and what the universe is and how to exploit it's possibilities for fun and profit, or at least for free drinks, then do people who see themselves as being religious. Religious people mostly just believe what they're told. They like pat answers out of a book "guaranteed" to be true and right all the time. Thinking is hard work, and they like to have their thoughts sort of pre-chewed, and pre-digested for them. Then, they can have a "spiritual" opinion without having to think or experience anything difficult, or challenging. Religious people hate gray areas, and deny they exist. George Carlin fans live and revel in the gray areas. Our gray areas are quite colorful, not to mention difficult, occasionally tragic, and usually loads of fun.
Yes, you are weird, but probably in a good way, if you're still thinking. Keep that noodle turning.

Carlin doesn't believe in God. He bashes God in his books and concerts. So if you find him highly spiritual, it's got nothing to do with a Christian point of view. He just has a helluva way with words, and that's why you find him spiritual.

No, I've seen his shows and listened to him, and I believe that he truly seeks understanding. I'm saddened by the fact that he was so close to it and turned away from it because of a bad experience, but it happens. Funny guy, I just wish he wouldn't bash on Christians so much. He's far too clever to keep going where every comedian has gone before.
