Entwined fates...how would that be?

What's your definition of "entwined"? That's what I want to know.

My take on the word - characters whose lives are linked, and not in the sense of magic/fantasy, either. That's where I get stuck. I can't think of examples. : (

Can you think of examples?

One series I read was called the "Circle of Destiny" series (authors are Jim and Terri Kraus)

It was a four book series, and each told the story of one of the four main characters (3 guys and a girl) who come from different backgrounds. They attend Harvard University during the 1840s or 1850s, and each book is tells the story from the point of view of one of the four characters.

It's pretty cool the way the authors did this..for example, in one book, one of the guys (whose point of view the book is written from) is attending a party. He sees the girl talking to someone on the other side of the room. Well, when we read the girl's story, it takes us to that same party, and we find out what she's talking about, because that book is written from HER point of view..and, of course, she sees the guy on the other side of the room, looking at her... it's really amazing.

The names of the books are:

The Price
The Treasure
The Promise
The Quest

Great series.

Most novels! what about Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte or Rebecca by Daphne de Morier, rebecca is where the life and fate of the new mrs. de Winter (who's name we never find out although she is the central character in the book) is enttwined with Rebecca, the old Mrs. De Winter, who she can never meet as she is dead.
