'US seen as a bigger threat to peace than Iran, worldwide poll suggests'
************************************************************
Edit:
America is mostly a country of the unbelievably stupid, naive and ignorant.
However, it has become rich and powerful because of a land rich in natural resources (taken with much bloodshed from the natives) and because of a small minority of brilliant scientists and intellectuals who are held in contempt by the majority who take advantage of their achievements.
America has been so provably wrong on so many issues it is absurd and they are too stupid to see it.
1. They now talk about solving the problems of the Middle East after voting in a president who initially said the rest of the world didn't matter to Americans (and wanted to pull out of the Palestinian/Israeli peace process- the Palestinian situation being a prime recruiting sergeant for terrorists)
2. They ignored the rest of the world who warned that they should take stock and plan before invading Iraq (and many of these supported eventual military action.
3. They said they don't believe in Global Warming (the fact that they would ignore their own Academy of Sciences shows how anti-intellectual they are).

The USA is a bully nation among nations and "should" have a rear end beating that it's getting in Iraq. Maybe this time the USA will learn the lesson it never learned in Vietnam.

I'm not american.. but I daresay the US Government is simply acting out the natural line-of-politics that would be expected from any govt. in its place..
but you say nation! well the nation has nothing to do with politics to a great extent, as %99.99 of the "nation" didn't kill anyone, they were just hard-working good old Americans trying to pay their taxes or send their kids to a good school.
As Platon concludes in Politeia.. good-old hard-working honest and modest people come together and then what they would call a state.. the state then may become what many would call a tyranny... the nature of states is different than that of the people's; so that calling a state "evil" would not be so brilliant.
but still it is in the nature of a human being or in this case the nation to be "true and honest". hitler just convinced the majority his nation that killing off other ethnicities was the way of being true and honest..
and in US's case.. I am assured that there are many like yourself that is not convinced that diving into other nations for oil is not so great.. but still the politics followed are just predictable reactions of the actions committed (in this case saddam hussein and osama), and effects of those very causes..
I am also assured that these line-of-politics are not the intentions of anyone in the govt.. including the president.. sometimes the squares you can play into are so limited, you just have to take a piece..

Not even in the top 200....
You are like every person such as you that has gained all the advantaged of a free nation because people like me and millions of other Americans have served and fought for your freedoms. You make blanket statement about how bad and evil the US is without citing even one supporting piece of information.
Please...reference the millions dead and don't you darn be so cowardly to mention even one war....unless you have worn the uniform and fought. Please...did we starve millions? No, we feed over a billion billion people a year in other countries with the food we produce. Did we kill millions by denying medical help? No....we support the IRC, the Peace Corp, provide billions of dollars in medical equipment and medicines to countries around the world.
I'm am not even going to speak of the billions we provide in foriegn aid....the political asylum to refugess...or emergency aid to countries that are hit with natural disasters.
And hey there kettle k....please name a few "whole cities leveled" by the USA. And again...don't even mention Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Those were destroyed in time of war and saved far more US and Japaneses lives (over 1 million) than were killed (about 140,000). Come on just 3 cities we leveled.
Thank God for the USA. And you should thank God. You should thank every person now serving or who has ever served in the military for protecting the freedoms you enjoy.
But you won't because I bet you feel you are entiled to them. Well you nor is anyone other US citizen entiltled to them. They are you yours and ours because they were earned by men and women I imagine are far better than you.
I really enjoy my right to freedom of speech. But then again...I have earned that right.

Hey, Americans, wake up !
The USA is NOT the most evil nation on the planet.
But there is a good reason why this question comes up........& that is coz the US hasn't actually been upto any good either.
For a number of reasons I can't go into depth here.
And as far as your "freedom of speech" goes, please stop harping on that....there are loads of other countries who offer much more freedom to their people than the USA.
Even the Roman Empire had its fall.......& they call this Pax Americana

I don't believe that Americans are bad. Most Americans don't support Bush and his cronies. There is a belief in other countries that the US only sees it's own citizens as human beings and foreigners are to be mistrusted and somehow less than human. I certainly don't believe this but the US has a bad public relations image in the rest of the world.
I think that the rest of the world needs to be democratic and the US founding fathers are to be admired for their vision of a free America and democratic America.
But I also believe that the people need to rescue the country from an administration that is destroying the very principles that the founding fathers fought for. By creating a climate of fear and reducing free speech and the right to a fair trial.
We, the rest of the world, can learn alot from the US. But the US will crumble if it follows a trend of aggression and isolation from the rest of the world. Perhaps it is time to realise that we are all connected and the policies of the administration don't just effect US citizens but every other citizen on the planet.

lol so you go on an American website, probably using an American computer, while wearing American clothes to say how evil we are? lol
sad.
Try living in Iran for a few months, see how well your freedoms fly over there, I just hope your not female or gay (they hang gay people in the center of town on a crane, and I would not wish that fate on anyone).
Or how about Germany where you can go to jail for saying a personal opinion that conflicts government laws.
or Colombia where kidnapping is the number two business.
or how about parts of Africa where some times the only crime you commit is being from a different tribe.
get your vision checked, you seem to be seeing things backwards.

Discerning the difference between good and evil isn't easy. It takes lots of practice. (see Hebrews 5:14) So we shouldn't be surprised that people have trouble distinguishing between good and evil. For centuries, some people have called evil good, and called good evil.
Isaiah 5:20 says: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter."
Malachi 2:17 says: "You have wearied the LORD with your words. 'How have we wearied him?' you ask. By saying, 'All who do evil are good in the eyes of the LORD, and he is pleased with them' or 'Where is the God of justice?'"
Paul had trouble, as many of us do, with good and evil: "So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me." (Romans 7:21)
1 Peter 2:12 instructs this way: "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."
Except for Israel, from God's point of view, what country ISN'T evil?
And how do we define a good nation? "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. (Mark 10:18)

Wow, Rattle. I'd really like to answer this question.
But... Doh! Homer gave you a better answer than
I ever could.
Tell me this, though. Do they have psychologists,
in the country you're from? (Because, should you
ever go home, it certainly wouldn't hurt you to get
some professional help.)
Good luck. A little of that never hurt anyone, either!
