Hey girl,
You may be a binge/emotional eater which is not good. I too am a binge/emotional eater, I mostly want chocolate around PMS time though .
You have got to get your addiction under control because it does have consequences ( weight gain). Here is some information on binge/emotional eating. Stop by your local library when you are ready to quit the habit and pick up a book on eating disorder. You may find out that you are addicted to other items as well. Best of luck
Emotional Eating - using food to escape or to make yourself feel better.
Emotional eating means that you eat for some other reason than health or nutrition.
This sounds pretty innocent, but Emotional Eating is actually what makes you break your diets. It's what makes you feel intense cravings for particular foods. It's what makes you overeat.
It causes food addiction. It's even responsible for binges and yoyo diets.
Chances are, if you've ever struggled to lose weight and failed, or regained weight
back after some success, you've struggled with Emotional Eating.
You already know how to lose weight. You know that if you eat less and exercise more eventually you’ll see the pounds come off. What’s getting in your way? Why do you usually regain the weight you lost?
The answer to all these questions is the same “Emotional Eating.” Simply defined, emotional eating means you eat to satisfy emotional hunger; it means you use food for comfort or as a way to cope with life; and it means you eat for reasons other than what your body needs.
Whenever you reach for a boredom-breaking snack despite your commitment, or whenever you eat to quell anxiety, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you binge after a fight, or double up on portions because your day turned sour, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you feel that sharp craving for your favorite food, that’s emotional eating.
When we eat during these times while on a diet, we believe the diet doesn’t work or that we lack self control and then look for the quickest way to lose weight (fasting/diet pills, ect) after eating all we can since we already messed the diet day up.
Remember that emotional eating plays a big part in why we don’t continue dieting and why we regain lost weight and why we binge today and start a new diet tomorrow.
Best of Luck.
P.S. I went from 120 lbs to 263 lbs. while addicted to food. It took me 18 months to lose the weight and it was very very difficult. I did not lose it by dieting, I lost it by exercising daily heavy for 1 hour, and reading books on eating disorders/binge eating. As I exercised daily and learned to control my binges, my weight began to drop.

I am totally the same and I am eating a huge Easter egg right now! I've found that a good way on cutting down is if you say, 'I won't eat chocolate until this time tomorrow' and if you don't eat it, reward yourself (maybe with chocolate) then just keep doing that and eventually you will find yourself not eating chocolate for WEEKS at a time. I did that last year but then it was Easter and I got 23 eggs and I couldn't help myself lol. Hope this helps xXx
P.S. You cannot fight the powers of the chocolaaate!

Normally, female subjects crave more for chocolate than males. This is due to the fact that female brain synthetizes a substance that helps to give a feeling of well being, called 2,3 phosphatydil glycerol, in some areas of the brain.
Craving for chocolate, which contains that substance, is a sign of low production, or very slow production of a normal substance that we all synthezize in the brain, and craving is the result.
The trick would be to consule other foods tich in acyl glycerol, in order to decrease the urgency to keep eating one chocolate after other, and en up very fat.
tablets with 100 micrograms of selenium (available at any naturist store) twice daily, or yeast extract tablets 3 times a day, normally work..

Chocolate can be good for you if you eat it in moderation. dark chocolate is more beneficial. Start portioning your chocolate. Give the rest to another person in the house. You can have some more tomorrow.

I am addicted too.
What I do is NEVER buy a large amount of chocolate.
Just one bar at a time.
Don't go out to the store to buy more.
It will be a matter of self control or you will make yourself sick.
Chocolate is considered a replacement for intimiate relations...... find yourself a good man!
