Avoid Bose unless you want to pay for looks over sound qualtiy. Also, you can spend $100,000s on a ultra high-end home theater speaker system alone, but for a reasonably priced system that will do 90% of the very best systems, I recommend putting Hsu Research on your short list.
If you want a high-end system for music as well as home theater, put Silverline Audio on to of your list to consider.

Hi. Loudspeakers are the most difficult components to buy because they all add their own particular coloration (distortion) to the sound they are producing. You really have to listen to as many as you can to give you an idea of how different they sound and narrow it down to the ones you think would be right for your system and choose the one you think is best.
It is impossible to give you a list of the ones i would choose because i would need to know the following.:
1. How big is the room you will have the speakers in and what furnishings are in the room.
2.What size speakers do you prefer
3.How much money are you prepared to spend.
4What is the output wattage of the Audio/ Video amplifier
5How loud would you listen.
However ,these are some of the ones that may suit your home theater :
Klipsch
JBL
Mission
Mordaunt Short
KEF
Warfedale.
Most of these come from Great Britain but they are very good speakers. A lot of people like Klipsch because they have a bright sound with plenty of "punch)
As i said earlier take the time to listen before you buy because you don't want to end up being disappointed with what you got,.
Hope this will help and good luck .I hope you end up very excited with your purchase.

The best speakers matched with appropriate audio components will cost many tens of thousands of dollars. There are almost countless other brands at various lower price points. Without knowing your budget no one on Yahoo Answers will be able to give specific enough advice. Don't buy Bose. They really don't sound as good as advertised and they are overpriced. If you ask your question with a narrowly defined budget I think you will get several good answers. Whatever you do, listen to different speakers before buying.

There is no such thing as "best" in speakers because they all sound different, and it is a matter of personal choice. Take some of your favorite CD's with you, and go listen to different brands (I suggest Boston Acoustics & Infinity). See what you like best. IMHO, Bose systems are very over-priced and over-rated (boomy bass and poorly defined highs), and Cambridge Soundworks are just crap. Other than that, have fun, and see what sounds best to you. decrease impedance on audio equipment basically mean the amp does not could desire to artwork as frustrating to force them. It does not in any way designate high quality of sound. Get a stable CD, close your eyes and pay attention. are you able to hearken to distinctive differences, highs and lows? Is it frustrating to tell which speaker the sound is coming from? Does the sound fill the room with out the quantity cranked? very own selection, what sounds great to you are able to sound completely distinctive to others.

Bose are not the best. They are good considering how small they are. They are well marketed, so uninformed people think they are the best. Macintosh, Klipsh, Harmon Kardon are of higher quality. Bose is good. But also probably the most overrated product in hometheater equipment.

It really depends on your price range. The others listed some good brands to look at. Here is a great bargain and well made system:
