Easter Sunday is just as relevant now as it was 2000 years ago. Technology just helps communicate that faster than ever before without necessarily adversely affecting our obligations.

Happy Easter :-)

Who says you cannot fulfill spiritual obligations with high-tech? The spirit of Easter Sunday still remains and is even evident in the questions and answers showing up on this Religion & Spirituality Q&A board. Even Jesus was pretty progressive for his day.

I'll have you know that before I went to the Easter Vigil Mass tonight I played on my Nintendo DS (Castlevania and Final Fantasy III), then played a bit of Wii (Wario Ware: Smooth Moves). After Easter Vigil Mass I used my Cell Phone to call my ride to pick me up, then when I got home I did the Divine Mercy Chaplet (for the Divine Mercy Novena that leads up to Divine Mercy Sunday which is next week) and finally last but not least went on my Computer and used the Internet to answer this question.

Well, with all this high-tech stuff that makes our jaws drop, finding God and learning about His Son should REALLY make our jaws drop! God had everything to do with it's creation. He created man, and man created all this stuff. Sure, we want to buy the newest cell phone, the newest laptop, the newest digital camera, but that signifies materialism. We want the things of this earth soo bad!! Don't we want things of Heaven even more?!?!?! With the money that this stuff costs, think of how many homeless you could help out. Think of the poor you could help out, the ones ready to be booted from their house or apartment. Think of the church you could help out! Like it says in Scripture. I don't remember the exact verse, but it says to not store things up on earth, where rust and the elements can cause to wither away, but to store things up in Heaven, where no rust and no elements can cause to wither away.

yes it remains

however the church is mostly now on the southern hemisphere in Africa, South America and China and less so in Europe

the center of mass of the church has shifted over the last century, and the modern west has become more secular and the third world more Christian
