The names escaped me, but those towers, normally in the bush or country, which are huge metal structures (almost 100m/300ft tall), you can see them from miles off, that can stretch the cables across valleys, etc. They're just a metal skeleton basically.
I'm not sure if the names different in the USA but I'm looking for the Australian name never the less.

In the US those skeleton structures that support transmission lines are referred to as "lattice towers".

In British English they are called pylons

we call them pylons in the UK,not sure what the australians call them.
