i had someone do my taxes and i dont't know the right dollar amont so i can't check the status of my taxes on line. is there any other way i can check the status of my income tax return?

You should ALWAYS have a copy of your taxes, even if someone else prepares them for you. Even if software is used to do them on-line, they should be printed out & kept as records. Ask the person who did your taxes for a copy of the return so that you can check the IRS website for the status and also so that you know what they did. After all, if any mistakes were made you're still responsible for the content of the return.

The numbers are on your copy of your return. If you didn't get a copy from the preparer, ask them for a copy. Without that information there's no way to check the status.
