The most common time to have the shower is during the 7th month....so in May for you. I wouldn't push it much past the 8th month, though, because then that is a lot of running around for you late in your pregnancy (summer + 8th months pregnant=TAKE IT EASY!!)

You can start on the nursery now....no one is going to give you big gifts like that without talking to you about it first!! So....if you want to go ahead and get the crib and stuff----I say GO FOR IT!! (I miss that....setting up the nursery is the best part of the whole "expecting" thing!! Lucky you!)

Go ahead and register for a crib set....maybe even go ahead and buy the basic set which includes the quilt, cribskirt, valance, etc. Then register for the accesories like the lamp, light switch cover, wall hangings, etc. The theme you pick for your nursery set could easily become the theme of the shower....this way people are likely to look to the invitation for guidance (if you pick a safari nursery theme and you have lions and giraffes on the invites....people will get you the stuffed giraffe over the stuffed duck!! )

Shop wisely on the cribs....buy ones with SOLID parts. We made the mistake of going inexpensive with our first daughter and her sliding crib bars went all wonky by the time she was 9months old. A good crib is a GOOD INVESTMENT,....especially if you plan on having more kids. Really nice ones convert into toddler beds and, later on, twin or full sized beds!

Have fun with the planning.....take your time and SAVOR it. You are setting up the room that will host SO MANY MEMORIES those first few years!!

(Advice: Get a stereo for baby's room if you can. Once baby is here....dance with him or her AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! Dancing is a great thing to do with baby....make it a bedtime ritual and listen to slow music. Make it a playtime ritual and listen to fun music. I did this with my girls....and we still dance almost EVERY night right before bedtime. They each have their own special song, too..... Dancing is a wonderful way for kids to learn that parents can be silly, too....and to not take life too seriously (a lesson a lot of adults need, too!)

Good luck
Congratulations
Have fun!!!

Woo Hoo!!!

I know I am a guy but I have two children and my wife is expecting. We had a baby shower for my 9 and 3 year old just to get started. We recieved lots of gifts like baby monitors and clothes and all that which gave us a head start. I know we aren't having a baby shower for our twins because we just don't want to have one haha. If you don't want to have one then don't have one. Also the sooner you can start on the nursery the better. You want it done by the time the little one arrives. So that includes cribs, toys, change tables ect. So then you can have the last few weeks relaxing. I hope I could have helped. Good Luck and Congradulations by the way!

You should probably have the shower in early June. First of all you will know what you have gotten for the baby and will still have 6 or more weeks to get any essentials that you still need. You will also enjoy the party more. By the last month you may be too tired, bloated, etc. to have a good time with your guests. Good luck and congrats!

Well, have the baby shower about 8 or 6 weeks before baby. And design the room and start shopping in May. But shop after the baby shower because people are gonna get you tons of things

Anytime now. Usually people wait until at least 6-7 months so mom is showing.

You don't want to have it too close - in case you go into labor earlier.

I would say you could have it in May or early June. I'd be buying crib and nursery items now. Get that stuff ready so you don't have to stress about not having it done.

You should have a basic set of supplies [ one or 2 ] of most things the baby will need. Babies can surprise you, my first one did. June has 5 Saturdays this year . I would not pick the 7th of July [ a lot of weddings 07-07-07] . Good luck and God bless you and the little one !

well about 30-32 weeks is good this still gives you plenty of time to buy what you dont recieve, remember to give out invites 2 weeks b4 and follow up 1 week later than 3 days later this reminds your guests that its coming and if they havent figured out what to get you this gives them time to find out.
