Yes - they are prone to getting skin cancer, especially of the ears. As they have no/little pigmentation, you have to guard against harmful rays in the sun.

Unfortunately there can be a couple. Many are born with hearing problems, and occasionally blindness. Some also come with different coloured eyes.
But the main concern is the sun. Skin cancer can be quite a problem, so using a good sunscreen for cats is a must 30plus being the best, particularly around the ears, nose, and mouth. You can buy sun hats from good pet stores, but these aren't very effective, more a fashion statement than anything. Ultimately the best thing is to keep them indoors as much as possible, particularly bet. 9.30 and 3.30 during the day. Even keep them from sitting on a windowsill facing the sun, as glass can increase the intensity of the rays.
But even though they be a little extra work, they're still beautiful cats.

If a white cat has blue eyes, it is 65 to 85 percent more likely to be deaf than a white cat with gold or green eyes. A white cat with odd-eyes (one blue and one green or gold) will most often be deaf on the side with the blue eye.
Also the sunburn. I have a cat with a white face and ears (she's calico) and use sunblock on her. She's now almost 5 and is a cat that spends a lot of time outdoors in the sun, so far no problem.

White cats are more prone to deafness & skin cancers so make sure you put some sun cream on the tips of the ears. But otherwise a white is cat is just like any other...

They are prone to sunburn and skin cancers.
Also make sure you feed them BEFORE you put on a dark suit, otherwise they will rub up against your legs and cover you with really obvious white hairs, you'll turn the house upside down looking for tape to get them off, you'll be late for work, lose your job, you won't be able to afford the catfood or the vet's bills, the RSPCA will do you for not taking care of the animal under that law they just brought in, and you will end up broke and homeless.
And people are supersticious about BLACK cats? How wrong could they be?

albino cats can be pron to blindness or deafness. white cats can be prone to sun burn, this leads to skin cancers.
We have a white cat and the way we protect him from the sun is to put sun cream on his ears, as it is impossible to keep a cat in, in the summer. however same cats may be allergic to some lotions, best to try one, and if there is a problem chance lotion.
One of ours had 1 blue eye and 1 gold and suffered particularly with sun burn, we had a sun cream like a pritt stick,.
your cat will probably not like you grabbing him and putting cream onto his ears, best to wrap the cat tightly into a towel.

I have a white male cat who is five next month. They are prone to getting sunburned so u need to apply sun lotion onto their ears and can have visual and hearing problems so keep an eye out for those. My white cat has different coloured eyes, one blue and one green.

I understand if they have 2 blue eyes then they are probably deaf, but just one blue eye and they are fully hearing ( I have a white cat with odd eyes ).The only problem with her is that i have to use suncream on her ears on a regular basis or she could get cancer of the ears. She has only to see me approach the sun cream and she vanishes!

White cats do have a much higher chance of being either deaf or blind. Not all are, but they do have a higher risk. A deaf or blind cat can adapt to a home environment very well. My cat Snowy was deaf and one of her litter mates (that my cousin adopted) was blind. Snowy lived a very long and happy life. Her litter mate was very interesting. They named him Batty because he seemed to get around by echo location. He constantly made a soft mewing sound as he walked. Even when furniture was moved, he never hit it.
