I have horrible vision (I can barely see anything a few feet in fron of me unless I'm wearing glasses.) and I was wondering If I ate lots of carrots, would be vision be perfect in just a matter of time? How long would this take of eating carrots?

Being extremely nearsighted can be a bother, but the good news is your prescription will improve with age. It will never be normal, but your glasses will get a bit thinner, most noticeably after the age of 40. The bad news is you will then need an extra pair of glasses or bifocals for reading.

A guy just can't get a break.

The vitamin A in carrots will help keep your eyes healthy, as will blueberries, but nothing you can ingest will change the shape of your lens. Years ago, eye exercises were popular, and there are still some books in print on the subject. These might bring you down a couple lines on the eye chart, but if you're someone who sees the top E as a blur, it hardly seems worth it. You would have to perform the exercises every day, and they are tedious. My cousin's doctor prescribed them after a head injury blurred his vision. His sight returned to normal after six months, but his vision had been fine to begin with.

On the plus side, people who wear glasses are often seen as more intelligent and diligent on the job. And glasses can protect your eyes from dust, grit and the occasional flying projectile.

If it's any consolation, you have lots of company.

No its a myth, originated from the 1600's when they used to sail as their main Menes of transport and some sailor had great eyesight and a real good sense of direction and navigational skills, he used to eat a lot of carrots so that's where the myth supposedly started, i cant remember the full story but i think carrots keep quite well, as in don't go rotten so fast, that's why sailors used to eat a lot of carrots. Carrots wont make Ur eyesight worse though but it is just a myth, and keep a healthy diet, don't smoke, take a multi vitamin and i think your eyes will be in good order. lol. oh don't forget to wear your sunglasses outside. Carrots are good for vitamins C and other minerals and vitamins, though if you exessively eat carrots its not that great for your liver.

Carrots contain a carotenoid called beta-carotene. Your body converts beta-carotene into vitamin A, which is an anti-oxidant. Antioxidants such as vitamin A are essential to eye health. Vitamin A is known to:
* help your eyes adjust to light changes
* Moisten the eyes, which can enhance visual acuity
* Prevent the forming of cataracts
* help prevent blindness from AMD

However, eating carrots alone would not improve your vision.

It doesn't improve your vision, it will only help to slow down the wearing down of your eyes. The vitamin A in carrots is essential for your eye health. It prevents night blindness. Vitamin A has been reported to prevent cataracts from forming and may have a role in preventing blindness from macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the world.

Most people believe that once they are diagnosed with some vision problem and start wearing eye glasses or contact lenses to correct them, they will have to do so for life in order to see better. Those who want a permanent solution to improve eyesight typically resort to Lasik or other corrective eye surgeries. But you you can also improve your vision without surgery and can see perfectly well without using eyeglasses or contact lenses. You can check here to know how https://tr.im/33c02
