I have often wondered this. If it is so great up there, why do we have an inbuilt reflex not to let ourselves die.

Suicide is the same as killing. If we commit suicide we will not make it to Heaven unless we are extremely mentally ill and are not aware of what we do.

By the way, a college degree does not make you smarter of better than anyone else here. Jesus never had a college degree and there is no place in the Bible requesting one. You will not be able to take it with you when you die and use it on judgment day.

because then the governments and indeed the churches would not have controll over there multitude.

more truth s would be revealed about the word of God , if a person walked there own path of truth, for there Faith would be shown to there Father , for they did not do as the Hyprocrites do.

"Do not pray with the crowd and do good deed s for all to see as the Hyprocrites do..

But go out and pray alone so your Father can hear you. And do Good without announcement "

Jesus himself, would ask you , what is it your heart tells you?

What is wrong with a child that wishes to come Home to his Father early in the day, to be held and healed?

His friends may laugh at him and call him a coward, Yet his Father shall Always Love him.

wether eye's are opened Now or later, they shall be opened.

under what I think Christianity is about. It is to be a witness to those that will not go to heaven. If YOU die so YOU go to heaven right now there are lives that will be lost to another path. You are on earth to help those individuals that are lost. I'm a deist, of sorts, but I respect the love of true Christianity

was your question about suicide. a lot of people seem to think so, was I on the wrong page about your question

Accepting your question as that of a serious believer, briefly the scriptures say this:
Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (KJV)
Several other scriptures confirm this sentiment!

However, there is this to consider! Rev 21:8 (ACV) 8But for the cowards,. . . their part is in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Christians are destined to suffer for Christ. It is their privilege! If they are too cowardly to endure, they are damned forever. (I am not talking about cases of illness with unendurable pain)
----------
Also, there is this other point that most people chose to ignore! Christ's own words to the fact that the "meek shall inherit the earth" with overwhelming proof behind it. Thus not all will go to heaven. (Matt 5:1-5)

Only a little flock will! The great number shall be in Paradise on earth.

Life in a body exists for reasons--- we have certain lessons to learn and services to perform. For those who are convinced that their true nature is spirit, there is no fear of death--- but likewise no desire to take matters into their own hands and kill themselves.
To commit suicide is to refuse to learn the lessons that have been given to you to learn--- and refuse to serve in the ways you have been asked to serve. A person who believes in a loving God wishes to reciprocate that love-- and be in harmony with the will of God.
Indeed, for those who have a relationship with God, there is no "sooner" to 'get' to-- One can be with God and still be in the body... right here, right now.

Grace must be built in nature. It is not easy to go to heaven it needs collaboration between human effort and God's grace. If we kill ourselves it is not the grace of God that is at work.

Because Christianity says we are suppose to reverance our life as a gift with an appointed time to end.

If you had any knowledge of actual Christian doctrine you might be able to insult without sounding stupid.

Congrats I am at Notre Dame Department of Theology. I can;t imagine a decent theology department even discussing a question like this it goes against all basic doctrine.

all true christians are going to be killed in the great tribulation by our antichrist brethren who were born under false doctrine. you won't have to hurry things because that is going to set in within the next few years, probably with hilliary as president
the antichrist children in false doctrine are part of the 2 evil religious structures today known as the
1. pope(beast-who was, is not, yet is----always one to take his place) at the vatican in rome that was established by a council of nicea in 325 ad and
2. image of the beast, protestantism united with rome in the world council of ecumenical churches at the vatican 2 in new york city. established in 1948. both were formed at a council and have a vatican headquarters. seee the beast and image? vatican means the house of cain or the house which cain built.

I've often wondered that same thing. I'm an atheist myself, but I will not begrudge anyone their faith. If someone is certain in their faith why would they be afraid to die at all? Suicide has its own drawbacks in many faiths, but not even considering that, why would a truly faithful religious person fear death?
