Downloaded version 2005 off the symantec website for 69.00 bucks, trying to reinstall, will not work, called customer support, they tell me must upgrade for 39.00 to get it to work, told them I dont care about the anti virus update right now just want system works I payed for, asked them to just send me the cd in the mail and they said, " no wont work without updating", anyone else feel its a rip off to have to keep paying norton 39.00 bucks a year for virus definition update after paying 69.00 bucks for the software?

i used to use norton products but later i discovered that i get more problem fixed that i actually have,

that is before i had the nortons i never got these problems after i installed it i started getting these crashed or virus watever and norton used to correct it

one example is when i got noton anticrash

before that i rarely got crashes but then i started to get these crashes and freezes which only norton could correct, even my own written programs started to crash, and norton fixed it in a while, later i got the message that norton anti crash has got a crashed and i kept wondering who will uncrash it, untill i discovered all the program stopped to crash ...

When you install it the autoUpdate should download all the relevant patches for a year. You can probably get the patches off Symantec support server. I don't trust their support line.

I'm running NAV 2005 myself... And I am updating it manually, every day. It runs fine, and I get the virus updates almost as fast as they issue them. :)

Oh more times than I care to mention sweetie. I know the exact feeling and I have had to remind myself that I am an adult .. and that I could go to JAIL for ripping a kids face off! lol (Ok, well that exact thought has never quite come to mind but giving them a da*mn good shake sure has!) ;-) Matter of fact just this week I had to contain myself because my son won 2nd place at the science fair and all these kids started giving him cr*ap because I was in charge of it. Well ... I certainly didn't do the judging so I had nothing to do with that. I just set it all up. I wanted to march over to his classroom and start "rippin"! lol Luckily his teacher calmed me down and I was fine. ;-) My son is just such a truly sweet boy as is your daughter ... and it kills him when someone gets mad at him or wants to tear him down for no reason. Your daughter is going to be just fine ... although she may get hurt from time to time I hope she always maintains her sweet heart and willingness to be a friend. It is, I have found, a much more rewarding way to live in the end ... Peace and calm to you! =) *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* P.S. Apple juice although I don't care much for either! =D

you are correct.
get rid of Norton.
you can get AVG at http://www.freegrisoft.com
unlimited free updates.
I use Spybot Search and Destroy as a second line of defence. also free updates.
you can help yourself by learning how to use your firewall, and by limiting which programs can access the internet.
