Why do you need to format your PC any way? It's a complicated process and it's better to have a pro do it.

1. Have an operating system disc (preferably the one that came with your pc, because it will have all your drivers also)
2. Insert the disc then Reboot the PC. During the reboot it should ask you to hit any key to "boot from cd" (if not you will have to go into your Bios and change the boot order to CD as first)
3. select Install windows
4. it will then scan your pc for Old operating system.
5. select the old partition and (usually C: ) and follow all the Steps to Delete it.
6. once it is deleted you should have all RAW or Unpartitioned Space.
7. select install windows on your new RAW space and it will take it from there.

1. get a fresh copy of Windows XP (cd).Insert into your cd drive.Dont do anything.Restart your computer
2. boot the cd (restart your computer and boot it)
3.Blue screen appears asking what you gonna do,just follow the instruction until you get to a point asking whether Repair your current windows or install new window.
4.Choose install new window. Then there should be an order asking where do you want to install the new window, which is partition C or D.
5.Choose partition C(this partition normally).
6.Then there should be a menu asking you to FORMAT the C before install the new copy of the windows.
7.Follow the instruction to format it.
8.Make sure that you have all drivers(the cd that included when you bought your pc)needed before format(sound driver, graphics driver, etc)
I've done this a lot. But,if you are willing to do this, do it on your own risk.
