They are asking what you earn the minute they meet you, even before they know your name, and ask what skills you have to support him and what benefits he can expect if he stays with you.

Be rude if you want, but I tell you honestly that I have never met a
man in my life who would not have started with "hi, so what is your
job", or "would you be able to buy me a house". It's the truth!

Don't forget that the majority is vice-versa.
Women always look for men with money even if she does not love, and may also use seduction to reach that goal.
Would you prefer a guy that has a house? or one that will beg one from you?
Same goes for men..

Huh?
Are you joking? About 99.9% of women us guys meet ask our names, then go straight for the pocketbook. I am a graduate student, and in a few years will be earning over six figures. But, I don't share that. By not sharing that, and by presenting myself as simply being a student (i.e. read into that "not much income") I've had quite a few women who just go bye bye when they find out I don't have a trust fund somewhere. It's pretty common knowledge among men that if you're not raking in the big bucks, forget it - you'll be pretty lonely in the dating arena.
Then you see the butt-ugly, half-witted slobs of men that seems to always have a woman. I have asked numerous women about men like that, and their answer is, "Well dear, he has MONEY."
I knew a good female friend (a co-worker) who was beautiful, charming, intelligent, etc. She was dating this guy that lied and cheated on her constantly. Every time I saw her, she looked just one step away from bursting into tears. One day, I asked another female co-worker friend why this lady didn't just dump the cheating creep. She then replied that, "Well, she doesn't dump him because he's a millionare."
I rest my case.

you must be meeting the wrong type of men. NEVER have i had a man ask me all those questions. they may of course do it more subtle by asking you what do you do for a living. but thats up to you how much you tell them. and they maybe figure on how we dress gives them an idea. but those ones you dont' want anyway there just gold diggers. so its good they show themselves that fast. the smart ones normally go under the radar. and you still have to watch.
But generally speaking and I have met many many men they don't come and ask you that. its more are you single or would you like to come home with me or here is my number or lets go out after the club closes. those are more everyday questions a woman gets.

I can understand how you might feel, with what you've been through, that all men are looking for women with money. It seems that maybe the men you've met have left you with a bad taste in your mouth. Just as it wouldn't be fair to generalize that all women are goldiggers, its really not fair to generalize that all men are looking for women with money. There are some decent men out there who don't care about how much money a woman have, but rather the person that she is. What she stands for and what she believes in.

Because times have changed. Women are out there working. There are some dumb enough to support a man. I think both the man and woman should work unless they have a child and then one of the parents should only be home until the child is in school full-time.

Hmm.. Ask them back the same questions.. See what is their reactions..
Actually i think they are just being reality. In the society, we can never live on love alone. Money is one of the main reason why so many people divorce. If in the starting, all these are mention then in the future it will not be such a major problem.

Maybe they are looking for more independent women since they wouldnt be able to support you with their salary or
they were spoiled kids and they are looking for a mommy that would take care of them...
