I am an atheist. I do not have to try to make god and jesus a joke. To me, they do not exist.
What is more interesting is to observe the behavior and responses of certain god-believers (mostly christian) toward unbelievers. I'm still trying to determine if it that should be called funny or sad.

You people make God into more of a joke than the atheists ever could. It is not that they are attacking God. They honestly don't believe in Gods. It is your rather foolish belief system that they are mocking.

They obviously have something missing in their life, and can find nothing better to do than try to take us down. They find no reason to just ignore this and let us talk about it if we like in seriousness, but they have to butt in and be immature and annoying. They may be thinking, "ha, we're getting into their heads, haha" and you know what they are. They're giving us one more reason to stand up and acknowledge who our Lord is...

I think God can take it--it's his followers who get all pissy and bent out of shape and retaliate--which as I recall, Jesus advised against for those who wanted to see heaven, so perhaps it's a test of your faith--you failed

I do not think Jesus is a joke. Religion is one of the most powerful forces on the planet, motivating people to commit unspeakable acts of murder, torture and oppression such as the Inquisition, the Holocaust, the Slave Trade and the Oppression of women and minorities.
To me it's no laughing matter.

I agree with you. But I want you to remember something....
Jesus said, "There will be those who will persecute you for My names sake".
You see, if they persecuted Him, they will persecute those who believe in Him. Very prophetic words of Christ, and they certainly ring true today.
I don't like to hear that stuff either, but you can certainly expect it from those who are ignorant.
Pray for them, and ask God to open their eyes and then perhaps they will show more respect and reverence.
Thanks for bringing up this important issue.

i dont know
but now i believe that christians and atheists should never be in one chat room together(or our unique yahoo answers here)
they kill each other. maybe we should have deifferent sections for both or else i think there might be a war over yahoo! answers one day.
