I'm not Wiccan, but here are some sites and advice I can give you:
http://www.witchvox.com
http://www.religioustolerance.org
1. Read up on the founding of Wicca. Don't believe those people who say that Wicca is an old religion. Yes, it takes from old pagan traditions, but Wicca was only created around the 1920-1930s (I'm not for sure on the EXACT date, but that's the time frame you're looking at). Does this make it WRONG....not necessarily.
2. If you think Wicca is some fluffy-happy religion, you're mistaken. Wicca is a RELIGION, not a religious version of "Sesame Street". There is dark and light in EVERY religion.
3. Read, read, read. And read some more. If you do not know what questions to ask, how will anyone know how to answer them? There are books galore out there, search the 'net to find some good lists. Read the sites that are promoting those books - do you agree with what they're saying, or what you've learned so far? If not, look at the listed books with the same caution.
4. ALWAYS QUESTION. Never stop questioning. The same questions that led you to this religion, the same ones that led you away from your previous one. You HAVE to be sure you choose a religion for the right reasons, and not just for shock value. You will still have all the hangups and problems (and good things) that you have now, but the right religion for you will help you find it within yourself to break free of those hangups and solve the problems - and not just with a little spell, but by using your wits.

The best lessons to learn have to be learned by yourself. If you are interested in Wicca I would strongly urge you to start reading. Here is a list of some books that can be very helpful:
The Truth About Witchcraft Today, by Scott Cunningham
Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, by Scott Cunningham
Earth Power, by Scott Cunningham
Witchcraft from the Inside, by Raymond Buckland (this one will scare most people about going public with being Wiccan)
Wheel of the Year, by the Campanellis
Creative Visualization, by Shakti Gawain
After that, I would suggest you find other titles that interest you, you can never read too much.
Also you might want to check out the link below as it will offer much good information.

Some Wiccans have significant problems with Witchschool.com. You might want to read the following articles:
http://community.livejournal.com/nonfluffypagans/718930.html
http://community.livejournal.com/nonfluffypagans/719279.html
http://community.livejournal.com/nonfluffypagans/719552.html
before you consider signing up with them.
In my opinion you're better off finding a face-to-face teacher in your area. One way to do this is through the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:
http://www.witchvox.com/xvn.html
Just use the pull-down menus on the left to find individuals, groups, shops, and events in your area.
If you're looking to do some reading, I'd recommend "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham, and "The Triumph of the Moon" by Ronald Hutton. Cunningham will give you pretty much everything you need to get starting in the theory behind Wicca and the day-to-day practice of the religion.
I advise you to stay away from anything by Silver Ravenwolf, for reasons outlined in the following essay:
http://wicca.timerift.net/ravenwolf.shtml
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I don't promise to have all the answers, but I'll do my best to help.

The first thing you need to know is that anyone can claim to be anything while on the internet. There are legitimate sites and people but I would start with Witchvox if I were you. I was Wiccan for a few years and then moved on but Witchvox and Scott Cunningham books are a good place to start.
