The Buick would win, it has a bigger engine with a supercharger, the grand am is just a 3.4 liter, in either a 1/4 or a 1/2 the Buick would win. And no, they are not the same car.

I do not know what engine is in the grand am. If the Buick S/Charger puts out five pounds of pressure 9 (which is probably about the correct amount) it would in effect increase the 3.8 roughly forty percent in size. Therefore the 3.8 would in effect be about a 5.0. If the grand am has a 5.0 engine and all other motor and transmission features were the same (which they probably would be) Buick would probably win because the Buick should have a power band commencing at a much lower R.P.M. range and a much broader R.P.M. range for its power band.

What do you think???????/
