A man convinced against his will, is of the same idea still.
You will not "convince" anyone.
Faith is of God, that is the gift.

Is this a riddle? Anyway, about Jesus...I am 26 and a gay male. I am a drug addict with almost three years clean and sober. I believe Jesus did that. He did all of that without ever once trying to "cure me" of homosexuality. I never have believed in Jerry Fallwell's Jesus, I don't think Jerry does either, and I hesitate to call myself a "Christian" sometimes because what they/we have become. Hatemongers and war criminals. I am not sure if Jesus is a man or God Him/Herself, I don't know for sure that the virgin birth or the ressurection was meant to be taken literally or if it was used as a metaphor or for political purposes as the faith is now. That is NOT what Jesus would do! Atleast, not in the way it is now.

If Jesus were walking around today, he say once again that many say they believe, but those same people tremble when confronted with the true love and forgiveness of Christ. Fallwell, Bob Jones, Dobson...all of these men may truley believe in their version of Jesus, but when they meet His True Presence, they will tremble in fear.

Non-believers, all those liberals out their who support gays, poor people, people with AIDS, those who oppose war, if these people were to meet Jesus they'd giggle like children and He would embrace them. He would be truley pleased. He wants us to be obedient to the truths we all "hold to be self-evident", that everyone is created equal in the eyes of the creator. He does not want blind allegiance to a mispronounced, misspelled name or even discriminatory doctrinal principles. All he ever asked for is love, justice, and mercy. Mostly just love.

I don't think this answered the question, but oh well. It helped me to remember what I believe.

A life totally changed by the redemptive power of Jesus Christ.

When they experience the presence and power of the Life of the Living God. Jesus Christ is not proven by argument, even if it is interesting. When a non-believer feels the tangible presence of God on his/her skin, or experiences the power of a physical healing, be it cancer, AIDS, blindness, deafness or crippling, expecially after many many years of suffering, it is very easy to see that Jesus Christ truly cares for their suffering needs, and wants to set them free from the effects of sin, and the power of death.

Yes, it is true that Christianity is also accurate archaeologically, historically, logically, and contextually, but it is really the fact that people can verify it for themselves, and don't need to be convinced by us, which is the most amazing thing.

An exception to this can be in Islamic countries where it is difficult to preach the gospel. In these cases more than 90% of Christians from Muslim backgrounds usually have had a vision or dream of Jesus Christ who told them that He was God.

Jesus Christ doesn't need us to defend Him. He has enough power to defend Himself. All you need to do is do what he says, and he'll stick to his side of the bargain...namely setting captives free!

Seeing true examples of someone living a "christian" life. I find that having someone "preach" to me about "being saved" or "accepting Christ" or I will go to hell when I die offensive. I find bible-thumping, judgmental, our-way-is the only-way-to-heaven totally revolting and against all that I have learned about Jesus Christ.

The people who inspire me to learn more about Christ are good, kind, peaceful people who do not "preach" but lead by example.

That when they were born, they were taught to be GOOD. That is evidence of being born a sinner! Most people don't teach their kids to be BAD! I said MOST...so what does that mean? All have sinned and fall SHORT of the glory of God!

ABUHAMZA lives in a lie! Jesus NEVER said those words!

Whether or not he/she will accept the basic principles of his messages. Love thy neighbor. If you talk about the universal ethics, and not try to convince them that savior x is the only choice, then you have an open dialogue about important human issues. If pimping your one truth is all you do, you are just promoting a cult based on one man's personality. Is your faith about spirituality or a demi-god from 2000 years ago?

If something were true you wouldn't need to be a "believer". You accept it as true on its own merits. You offer no reason to think otherwise and the burdon of proof goes to the one making the claim.

You can't. I for one find it hard to believe that a person is out there with that kind of power and they never show themselves. Well, I guess God does exist, his name is Barry Manilow. Now that man has the power and passion to be a god!
