If you don't pay your bills, your credit score will reflect that.

Medical bills are sometimes seen as being a little different than other bills, but lenders will see that you didn't pay them...

IT WILL effect your credit score. My boyfriend didn't pay his medical bills (wasnt his fault because his company was supposed to pay the bill for a job injury) and the hospital ended up putting a hit to his credit report. This was almost 7 years ago and he is still having issues. Luckily for him the bad credit will disappear after the 7 year mark.

Although it may go on your credit REPORT, it cannot be counted in your credit score which are two different things.

Edit: Your credit report flaws can be renewed. It's up to the lendor to renew your bad debt. After 7 years, it may go away but it also may come back.

If you pay every single person/institution you owe money to even $10.00 a month, they can not report on your credit report negatively. But if you don't pay, it will take you most of a decade or more to get your credit score up again. Call your creditors and set up easy monthtly installments that you can afford.
