Try a heating pad on your neck.
If you don't have a heating pad, you can place a wet washcloth (that had been heated in the microwave) in a ziploc bag. Cover bag with another cloth. Use as heating pad.
The heat will help with the pain and swelling.

Your doctor should've given you antibiotics to treat it, thats the only way. :) Treating Strep Throat
In most cases, doctors prescribe about 10 days of antibiotic medication to treat strep throat. Within about 24 hours after your child starts taking the antibiotics, his or her temperature will probably be back to normal, and your child will no longer be contagious. By the second or third day after taking antibiotics, the other symptoms should start to go away, too.
Avoid orange juice, grapefruit juice, lemonade, or other acidic beverages, which may irritate your child's throat. Warm liquids like soups, sweetened tea, or hot chocolate can be soothing.

The doctor should have given you antibiotics to help with the infection and swelling.
This is what i would do, go to the doctor and tell them that the pain is unbearable and that you want something for the pain. if they tell you No, then you tell them will not leave until they do.
You can also call a pharmacist and tell them your problem maybe they can assist you into what you can take to relieve the pain.
good luck and i hope you feel better...
