The healthiest way is through healthy eating and exercise,
Step One - Sit down and make a menu plan
Some good things to keep in mind are portion sizes, calorie intake (cut your daily intake by around 20%) and your recommended daily intake of each type of food.
http://diabetescontrolforlife.com/healthy_eating/content.aspx?p=portion_control
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
When making your Menu Plan try and incorporate 6 small meals of Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, Snack. Although this may seem like to much food if you make each portion smaller and eat about three hours apart it will stop your cravings making it easier to lose weight. Another good idea is to have a look at menu and food ideas for diabetics because everyone should really eat in a similiar way to this.
A sample plan can be scene here
http://www.webmd.com/solutions/sc/diabetes-and-your-menu/sample-meal
Step Two - Make a plan for how much excersise you will like to do
When i was trying to lose weight my aim was to walk my dog at least once a day. I tried to do it twice a day but once a day was a must. I walked around 1-2kms at a moderate pace so that when i got home i was just starting to sweat. If your anything like me I hate going to the gym and being in pain so this was a great way for me.
What you need to remember is that any exercise is better than no exercise so walking to the milkbar, gardening, playing with your kids. Any of this does help.
Step Three - Do it
Even when it gets tough and you think its not worth it remember your goals and why you wanted to do it and keep at it for your physical and emotional health
Hope this helps and Good Luck

Hi,
The best way I know is to do a detox.
I specialize in helping people lose weight quickly and healthily and i myself lost 15kg within 2 mths via a detox.
I have also helped people lose a total of 500kg in the past few years via detox.
A detox is healthy because it brings balance back to your body and losing weight is just a by product of the detox. So at the end of the detox, you will find yourself get more energetic, healthier, more radiant looking as well.
And the detox is simple. All you need to do is three things.
Number one, follow the detox programme which requires you to change your diet a little bit. Eg, take more vege and less meat and seafoods.
Number two, use 1 minute a day to take some natural health foods that I take to enhance the speed and the effect of the detox.
Number three, drink lots of water to flush the toxins out..
And that's it.
The rest is up to you.
So what do you think? ;)
If you are keen to find out more about my detox programme, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com.

Hi! I've just done pretty much that (well 18.4 lbs in 13 weeks..lol!) with Weightwatchers and haven't felt like it is a typical "diet"..there's no deprivation as you can still enjoy your favourite foods and live your life - eating out, takeaways, drinkies, etc are all built in if you want. Exercising means you can eat more! (You can tell what my priorities are...ha!)
It acknowledges real life and takes into consideration that holidays (Easter Eggs..) are part of that. You're encouraged to plan for them and enjoy them as part of the plan. This is why I can see it being a long-lasting thing unlike some other whacky plans with milkshakes or delivered food. What do you do when that kind of diet is "over"? I don't feel they set you up for long term success or encourage you to learn healthy eating or how much food your body naturally needs.
Anyway, you could check out the WW website for an idea of how it works and where you could join a meeting if you want. (I personally have not gone to meetings.. you can participate online if you'd prefer.)
There are also lots of forums/communities online for support and advice.
I really can't recommend it enough (and I don't work for them, honest). It just works.
Good luck with whatever you do!
Deb

Go swimming 4 times a week for 1 hour and cut down on meat. If you are average weight, just dieting won't help you need to build up muscle too.

I lost 40 pounds in 2 months just by not eating rice, sweets, and by drinking only water. Eveything else in my diet remained the same . I never starved myself.

Odds are you're eating too fast. Try holding a conversation with a meal so you're definitely not gulping down more than you should feel full.

Eat a balanced diet (no snacks or 2nd helpings). Get plenty of sleep. And WALK...-as much as possible, for as long as possible- and as OFTEN as possible. Do this without cheating (too much :) ), and you'll be an "item" in that bikini- by July. Good luck!

Beware of "fat-free" or "zero trans fats" foods as you could be trading fats for huge amounts of sugar or sodium.

Give your protein extra low-calorie flavor with the addition of a salsa or chutney as an alternative to a gooey cream sauce.
