...which seems more 'scientifically logical': (A) The universe as we know it just happened out of nothing, or (B) a Creator by intelligent design set things in motion?

Science does not and has never contradicted God. It just seems funny how some people on here try to augue that intelligence moves people away from the belief in God, when some of the most intelligent minds we've know come to the conclusion- that 'intelligent design' is the only answer for our universe.

Fear, arrogance, delusion and a dozen or more reasons move people away from God...not knowledge. How could it?

Modern- Dr. Stephen Hawkings
Historical- Sir Issac Newton

Just a quick two...but two pretty brilliant people.

Dr. Hawkings is very much an advocate of intelligent design and adresses it in both books:
A Brief History in Time
The Universe in a Nutshell

He has spoken on the specific subject as recent as 2005. Check his website and know your facts before you debate. Anyone can debate with mistruth.

You are correct, Tony:

There are many scientists that support creationism.

For example, Dr. Robert Gentry's research while working at the U.S. nuclear facilities, discovered polonium halos that were solidified during the process of neucleosynthesis.

That is, there was evidence in different radioactive isotopes that were declaring that God spoke and it stood fast.

Many scientists are supporting evidence of a very young earth--I tend to agree with God's Word, and science is catching up.

Matter or energy was discovered by means on the study of science but it has long been on that manner on the creation of God for everything. The universe existed through creation of God who has no beginning and no end.It is designed by God who is very powerful and the mightiest..

It is not intelligence that people is moving away from God but a belief of something about God. Anyway it was written in prophecy in the scripture that many will not believe in God, with a mere reason that they have not seen God but they believe on energy, matter or force which they can not see.

When somebody will tell you of this and that, will you consider him as with intelligent mind and when God tells you that He is powerful and the mightiest, you do not believe Him and consider him as dumb, or do you consider that the man who is telling you that there is God, is considerered as dumb man? and just favor the other side which you believe?

While there are people moving away or getting away from the belief of God, there are more who believe , million times than the non believer.

Your logic is wrong I think.

Neither makes any sense at all.

Why not just accept that the Universe was always there and needed no creator?

If you say that everything NEEDS a creator, then who created God? And Who created God's Creator?

If you say God didn't need a Creator, I refer you to my first question.

Why not just accept that the Universe was always there and needed no creator?

Edit : "there would be no singularities at which the laws of science broke down and no edge of space-time at which one would have to appeal to God or some new law to set the boundary conditions for space-time . . . The universe would be completely self-contained and not affected by anything outside itself. It would neither be created nor destroyed. It would just BE . . . What place, then, for a creator?" ~ Stephen Hawkings.

Wherever did you get the idea that Hawkings was a creationist? He says he isn't.

A is much more plausible because if B then who created the creator?

It is not fear, arrogance or delusion which makes people atheist. Indeed they are the very qualities which make people cling to myths for 'safety and certainty'. What makes people into atheists is the nonexistence of god. What reinforces atheism is absurd arguments like creationism. ID follows close behind.

One word of advice: don't get your scientific theory from preachers. Science does not attempt to answer the question. "where does the original matter come from?" It only theorizes that, given a set of fundamental elements, that life, planets, the universe, etc have evolved into what we see today. Einstein was a very religious person. In fact, the more he understood about the universe, the more he believed that he was deciphering the code of God.

Religion and science have never been mutually exclusive.

The Big Bang theory doesn't say that everything was created out of nothing, it states that all the matter was in one single place, compressed to such an extent, that it exploded and everything was flung out in all directions.

"Intelligent design" supports the idea that a creator set things in motion by creating the Universe out of nothing.

Which of these seems more logical? The first of course.

true, there is an order to the universe and it can only be explained by a creator but not as the creationist explain it, if the universe was just a blob mass of sludge i would not believe in a creator but somehow it all works in hormony with the known laws that seem to be perfecly working together one thing off just a little would throw it all out of balance

Using your premise that mass-energy is not created actually argues against God. Which is more probable: there is a finite amount of mass-energy that is eternal, or that there is an eternal complex sentient being capable of creating that same mass-energy? Obviously the former. Thank you for showing that not believing in God is scientifically rational.

I love how people dance around this question. You give two excellent examples of internationally accepted geniuses supporting the evidence of God, yet some people still think they are smarter and have their own answer.

It's unfortunate that one day they will face the Creator. Then, they will bow and confess how wrong they were and forever live with their mistake. FOREVER.

I truly hate that because it just seems so stupid.

Love the website.

Which God?

Why would a intelligent design involve killing 99% of the species that walked this earth? Why not get it right the first time?

Matter and energy are not proof of God. They are evidence of matter and energy.
