Does our military might give us the right to make the rules for everyone and ignore the laws of our own country? I think we are arrogant beyond belief . If we're really the leader of the free world everyone should be accountable ie.. even the president.

based on many of the answers, the american people are still under the impression that this is a just war.

we need to get back the the nation we were. America is going down the crapper, because of the media propaganda.

Johann von Goethe once wrote that "none are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." No words could more accurately capture the plight of the American people. Having been indoctrinated for so long in their government-approved schools, Americans rank among the most enslaved people in history. And their denial of reality does not free them. It simply produces a psychosis marked by high levels of alcohol and other drug addiction.

Called into account for what?

The President gets intelligence briefings every morning. And he can only go by what information he is given. And if he deems that another country has weapons that threaten the region, or the interests of the United States, then he is obligated to act. And that is what he did.

Saddam Hussein did indeed have chemical weapons, because he used them on the Kurds. 5000 dead. That is a known fact. And it was also a known fact that he was pursuing nuclear weapons. Given that information, it would be prudent to think that they were becoming a threat.

If the US invaded Iraq and did not acquire any substantial WMD's, then at least we can say assuredly that the possible threat has been eliminated. What do you think we are supposed to do? Wait until a rogue country detonates a nuclear device on someone and THEN react to it? Why would tens of thousands of people have to die when the whole thing could have been prevented? We need to prevent these countries from developing these kinds of weapons, not react to them once they've used them. That's just good common sense.

Also, why are you putting this totally on Bush? If you will recall, the Democrats, especially their beloved Hillary Clinton, approved the use of force in Iraq. That means that she approved sending troops on that invasion, based on the intelligence the President was given. You neglect to present this fact, because you have an anti-Bush agenda, and you don't want to show the entire set of facts because it would dilute your statement. If you're going to make such claims, then at least get your facts straight.

Of course there were no WMDs, sanctions had been in place for years and inspectors had destroyed what was left from the Desert Storm or Iran War periods. Bush was looking to invade Iraq and made up the intel to suit the intention according to some cabinet members who have resigned and the Downing Street memo.

Bush failed to protect the country on 9/11/01 even though he was warned on 8/6/01.
Bush allowed illegal wiretaps and torture.
Bush ignored Katrina and allowed citizens of New Orleans to perish. Bush hasn't been held accountable for anything he did.

(This right wing BS about Saddam hiding WMDs doesn't pass the common sense test. If Saddam had weapons and knew he was going to be attacked, would he hide the weapons? Aren't weapons used for defense? Why didn't he use them to defend the country? People who believe the hidden or moved WMDs are just sheep.)

I think because the WMDs are a moot point, and because nobody really knew how we could know for sure until we finally went in. Saddam Hussein WAS a WMD. Besides, do you ever wonder why we just didn't plant some WMDs once we went into Iraq? Think about that question. But, having been in the military, I can tell you that we are never going to know if they found them or not, because the answer is or will be classified for about the next 20 years.

I think you are a liar and are not in any way shape or form affiliated with the United States of America. If I am wrong, you should be ashamed of yourself. There is a war going on if you haven't heard. Take your libble dribble and get the heck out of the way. Take John Kerry and your beloved Jane Fonda to Iran with you. Take some money to buy a burka or the Taliban might wack off your ear separator. Plan on staying there too, we are going to ban burkas,so you won't be coming back to this arrogant country. Now scram!

that is not the way it works, you know that too.. so what has you hating so? did your 8th grade science or biology teacher tell you some wierd lie about the "fragil environment" and blame it on GWB?
We are not arrogent. Every one , even saddam Hussein , even barakObamma, acted like they knew Iraq had wmd.. That is what we blew to hell in two places in N.Korea-(you dont really think those explosions were accidents do you?). That is why president Bush made a joke skit about it in the same week we destroyed saddam's and kim ill's weapons stock piles-- because he couldnt just come out and say , "well, kids, we just destroyed all of saddams wmd today at a rail yard in N.Korea,, and tomorrow we are going to get all of N.korea's wmd!"
please, find something to hate that deserves your venom-- Like maybe that lying vermin AlGore for playing on your fear and neurosis over global warming.

America is arrogant because we can afford to be. 2 months after 9-11 bombs were falling on Al-Qaeda. I think WMDs were in Iraq, but the media is so good about keeping military secrets *can you sense the sarcasm?*, when we went in, Saddam had just enough time to get rid of them. But then again, who the hell knows? You cant prove that they were never there, but you also cant prove that they were there.

And there's no Easter Bunny . What exactly is it you try and say here , besides fragmented soundbites just to insult the USA ; our military -who incidentally are dodging bullets ; and our President , who incidentally is fighting a War on Terrorism ? You better re-read that script a little better because you're not making a thimble full of sense .

Well then we could have to have more hearings and lo and behold Bill Clinton along with thousands of others will be called to account. Saddam Hussein did have WWD's and used them to kill thousands of his own people. He would not allow our inspectors in which was part of the agreement after the Gulf war.

Why did the Dems vote for the war if their intelligence did not also believe this.

Why do people take one bone and gnaw on it without first educating themselves?

You seem to forget that it was a democrat appointee that provided the false information to Bush and everyone else. It is people that constantly find excuses not to fight that cause our enemies to become bolder in their actions. Look at how the world has failed to punish Iran for their taking of hostages. Reagan did not take ling to punish them back in 1980.
