For God's sake, easter eggs have nothing whatsoever to do with our Lord Jesus Christ. Its bad enough when some roll eggs on the highest most holy day of Christianity, but they have to add insult to injury with their "quick like the bunny" - this is a springtime fertility ritual in the name of a Pagan goddess - it is an insult the the blood shed on the cross to participate.
Can't people read anymore? Christ became our what? Our Passover. Not our "easter".
Who on earth is Christian if not Jesus Christ Himself? He celebrated the Passover. I think people don't even know what they're doing, they just do it because their parents did it, I don't get it......

Last I checked easter eggs had nothing to do with Jesus of Nazareth.
They give eggs because the tradition goes back to places where christianity borrowed from. The easter holiday has it's roots in pagan traditions just like many other holidays we celebrate on the calendar.

I've arrived late to this question and have noticed others have answered it correctly .... Eggs and Christ have little connection ,,, BUT when i was little and asked about it at Sunday school the teacher said it was about NEW LIFE ..
It's actually a paganistic thing ..
BUT even if it wasn't .. the Giving of a Gift is a very nice thing to do .. who care if people who aren't christian decide to take on the tradition .. same with Christmas..
PERHAPS if we all bothered to take the positive actions and traditions of all faiths .. PERHAPS the world might be a friendlier place.

The better question is why do Christians give EASTER (a Pagan Fertility Celebration) eggs if they DO believe in Christ?
Why are you trading fertility symbols and celebrating Pagan traditions that your bible tells you are wrong?

What? What the hell do Easter Eggs have to do with Christ and non-believers? What do they have to do with Christ at all? Maybe you want to rethink the question...

Why not. Easter eggs are not a Christian symbol, it is only another one they stole from the pagans.
If anyone should take issue, it should be them...but I don't hear any complaining, I guess coloring eggs is open to all.

Because Easter Eggs have nothing to do with Christ. nor do bunnies.
Eggs and bunnies are symbols of fertility that are associated with the Assyrian fertility goddess, Ishtar, from whom Easter gets its name from.
