This is where you and I almost disagree. You may be an Atheist, but your posts are very much like what Jesus would have said or asked. Jesus said to (first) seek the truth and then to trust the truth.
When I first Answered this question, I thought you were a Church Christian; but then I remembered your other posts which were so open-minded that I knew you were not a "fundie" type Church Christian. So the following was my Dutch Uncle Reminder that to dwell on the reward of Jesus rather than the instructions of Jesus was not a very good idea.
(Please don't Judge Jesus by the words of Paul.)
I give first thanks to Jesus for braving this dangerous world to bring us his message from God;The scientist who seeded this planet 550 million years ago. Then I give thanks to Jesus for teaching us to forgive each other. Then I give thanks to Jesus for telling us how to be born again into a spirit of harmony, and a Justice system that does not allow grudges or the seeking of revenge. Forgiveness to me, means exactly what Jesus taught, on turning the other cheek and loving our enemies, and if you hurt me, I will forgive you, and if you hurt me again, I will forgive you again. But if you keep hurting me I should do like Jesus did and simply avoid you, (maybe even ignore you). Then I give thanks for Jesus keeping his promise that the Holy Spirit would witness to us all the things that he has taught us, including that if we follow Jesus' teachings we will go to Heaven after our stay here on Earth. Now, lastly, of course I thank Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins, he certainly made his point that he meant what he had been teaching. And Then I am proud that he rose again to prove that it was possible to escape the grave.
Where we might differ. I think of these things in the order that I presented them above. My problem with fundies and most Churches is ---- They start at the end, and never seem to make it back to the front of the above list of all the wonderful things that Jesus did for us. When I hear of young people who call themselves Jesus freaks, and say they would like to have sex with Jesus, cause they adore him cause they don't have to do anything but believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose again, Well I am sure you get my point.
Most Churches today insult us Jesus followers by constantly quoting the words of Paul, who never knew Jesus and simply made up stories and silver tongued philosophies and maxims in order to build his empire and legacy. (This chat group is splattered with quotes of Paul, instead of Instructions from Jesus.)
Ironically, I believe that those who just deal with Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross are still going to Heaven. Why? Cause thankfulness and humility ---- those two things Thankfulness, and humility will eventually lead to what Jesus was teaching us ... which is Harmony by being born again into harmony-loving people. Cause Heaven by logic must be filled with harmony-loving people. --------- Wow! I am very sorry for rambling
PS: Why would an Atheist think that not believing in God, as described by Church Empires , would keep them out of Heaven? Whether or not they believe in Heaven? If you read Jesus' exact quotes, you might be surprised about his views of God, his heavenly father.

I do not 'deny' I do not believe he did. To deny is to believe yet say you do not. I just dont.
Freewill does not come as a 'gift' from any being, it is the gaining of knowledge and understanding that helps us change our existence and futute which sets us free.
Slave to what machines? Have you stopped driving cars - using computers - watching TV etc - thats slavery to machines.
So for you to have true freewill - do you have to burn your car?

I'm a Christian, and never has my Church or any Christian I know has never shown hatred toward non believers. All the atheists see and hear are always bashing Christians and religious people. I respect everyones beliefs unless they are talking crap about my beliefs.

The chances of Neo being our savior are probably greater than Jesus.

This is very old but whatever.
I deny it because when you think about it, Creepypasta is more believeable than the Bible.
