... It does not mean that he had risen from the dead by a long shot. Does this piece of basic logic make you even consider there are alternative explanations that are less divine? Also, why would he only appear to a few select believers? Wouldn't it make more sense if Jesus wanted to prove he rose from the dead to appear before great masses of non-believers? Right in front of Ceasar himself and all his historians to document that he had indeed risen?

No no no. A savior was prophesized for hundreds of years (just like the end of the world has been and look at how true that's been). Jesus said that was him, but of what evidence that he had other than his word and "miracles" that were viewed by people who had no education and were the poorest of the poor, hardly the most credible bunch of people to do any sort of critical analysis to decide if those events were indeed miracles or just trickery. Also, it's not documented that he had appeared to hundreds of people and especially independent third parties who have documented his rise in other historical texts.

Thousands of people have seen Elvis since he died. They will swear up and down that they saw Elvis. Can I conclude Elvis was also divine due to the many reports of his resurrection?

He appeared to way more than a few. There also was a Roman guard posted at the tomb to ensure the exact thing you're talking about didn't happen. But he arose regardless. I just don't see anyone keeping it a secret after he said he would rise if it was a hoax. The religious leaders and Roman wouldn't allow it.
He appeared to enough to accomplish what he wanted. His plan is just right.
Faith -- Choice -- Belief
Those take action from us. People who hear and heed will be the ones he is looking for.

Christ appeared to over 500 people after he rose from the dead. They saw him accend in to heaven. Why would the disiples risk their lives and die for a lie. They would have just stopped preaching and teaching. The early Christains were put to death for preaching and proclaiming that he had risen. It is also written by other than the Christians. They have recorded all of this. The Gospels were written within one generation of Christ living and assending to heaven. People would have came out against it even more. They would have destroyed the religion and the followers.

There is no reason to believe the tomb of Jesus has been found; actually Jesus was a fairly common name 2,000 years ago. Jesus did appear to some followers after his resurrection, and historians have noted the firm conviction of his disciples that they had seen the risen Christ. Without that, Christianity would not have survived even on century. Many early Christians refused to recant when faced with torture or death; Polycarp is one that is found in history books; he believed Jesus was alive and would not recant.
If Jesus appeared to non-believers, they still would not believe.

it fairly is a sturdy question. nicely, i'm a christian and the bible says that to be absent from the physique is to be recent with the Lord. regardless of the undeniable fact that, whilst Jesus returns he will resurrect peoples bodies that have already died. once you're nevertheless alive whilst He returns then your complete physique and soul of direction will bypass as much as heaven with Jesus. i'm hoping this facilitates and God Bless

the answer is God is testing everyone to see who is worthy of heaven or not. If he did that then allot of people would have been saved and God would have conquered the whole world. Heck why not just appear before everyone in a form of a angel and tell everyone he lives, instead of sacrificing his son. Jesus was sent hear to make it easier to get into heaven. God searches the world to find the righteous ones for heaven or the ones who believe in his name(rose from the dead) God loves faith. And he tests everyone faith this way, for it is by faith that WE love God.

Contrarian, how can you doubt over 2000 years of proven scripture, and bible prophesy written about Jesus. If you look at the Gospel of John, you will have all the proof that you need. I for one, am living proof of what God can do in my life. I have been a Christian for 27 years. Nothing can shake my faith in him, and no one can alter the fact that He died on the cross for my sins and restored me into a right relationship with God.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me any time. I will be glad to share with you scripture upon scripture. God bless you.

He showed himself to over 500 people....read the bible sometime. If His body was never there, does this piece of basic logic make you even consider the alternative explanation as more devine? (see what I did there?) You will never find His body, because there isn't one to find. The more you search and find nothing, the more foolish you look for not trusting what you've been told over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. You know where His body is already, you've been told. If you find the place He was buried, it will be empty, you were told it would be for over a thousand years. Why are you surprised? You can't accept what you see even though you've been told, you are in denial. Open your heart and your mind to the truth, it will set you free.

Wake up. He appeared to people after His death. Why do you think Gospel spread so fast after His resurrection if He really did not show up to people. This is documented also in historical documents outside of the Bible. : )

There were gaurds, and there account of what happened was enough for me. That was there job, to gaurd and make sure that no one stole the body and pro-claimed that He had risen.
He did appear to some non-believers and they did not reconize Him. In John it said that He did many more miracles unto people.

He was prophesied to rise again through thousands of years of Bible books so its a lot more than just a coincedence. He appeared to hundreds of people who watched Him depart, but the Bible doesnt consist of those hundreds of people's stories, just a number.
