if someone has walked a path that you want to walk wouldn't it be much easier to have a guide who's been there. can you do it on your own? ,sure but you might not become as fully spiritual as you'd like or could./ also, if you're not interested in religion proper,maybe, you might read Eckhart Tolle who is a modern day mystic. Look up his work on Amazon and read the reviews. He's awesome
