Water holds a lot of jobs. It hydrates you, quenches your thirst without adding any calories, fat, or sugar to your diet, and also helps cleanse your body of inpurities while also working as a filler between meals.

The things people have said before me are true, water helps flush your system and helps you feel full. But there is one other benefit to drinking water...

Drinking 6-8 cups of water a day will help safe-guard you against water retention (except during that time of the month, unfortunately). If you consume a lot of sodium, your body will start retaining water to use when you need it. But if your body knows that it will getting plenty of water during the day, it won't retain water for later, which leads to a lower weight for you (and less bloating... yay!)

Compare the situation to an automobile engine:
You flush out the radiator, hoses, etc. did get
rid of old, build up and restore it to working order.

Similarly, by drinking a lot of water, you are flushing
out excess fat buildup and other fatty acid coagulation...
restoring the body to its wanted condition.

At the same time, if you are altering your diet, chances
are your liquid intake is altered. Drinking plenty of
water eliminates any chance of dehydration.
