Keep the current structure, most people don't pay more than 20% for taxes and your proposal would be a tax increase for them

I would recommend the current tax structure, the way it is, there are so many ways to pay lower taxes, and actually get out of paying taxes, it's unbelievable! The thing is the common individual is not familiar with any of these "loopholes"! It's a shame I didn't know this when I was younger, I could've gotten out of paying all those taxes, all those years! But now I pass this on to others, hoping someone will see, and learn about taxes, and keep from paying all those taxes, that the IRS, is taking from people! (no they don't need that much money to support the government)

As my effective rate of tax is a mere 8% (even though my marginal rate is 15%) I'll stick with the current system, thanks. Adam Smith is often treated as a hero by fiscal conservatives who advocate the Flat Tax. Even he, though, recognized the need for a garduated income tax. It was one of his Canons of Taxation. See the link below for an interesting take on his view.

Just continue with the current fix.

If I believed for one second that they'd actually stick to that plan, I might be in favor of it.

But seriously... do you think you could trust the government to limit their own consumption? Never going to happen.
