To me, the idea that a god created us by magic is banal and boring, whereas the fact that we're the product of 4 billion years or so of complex chemistry is absolutely fascinating and exciting. The reality is so much better than the mythology.

What say you?

The latter is far more interesting, especially when one considers this patern that created us and extends it to all existance and how it's worked, it's rather amazing. It can extend not only to biology, but the advances of society as a whole, the universe itself, and just about everything. Whatever isn't sucessful fades away while what prospers becomes more numerous. What becomes more numerous becomes more prone to change, as change is the one constant in the universe (as time itself is defined as a period in which there is some change). So success leads to prevalence, prevalence leads to change, change leads to branching between success and failure, and the universe gets more and more interesting with every passing moment.from our perspective at an exponentially increasing rate.

Mascaras... I've banned myself from buying anymore & am struggling because L'Oreal have bought out a lash renewal serum which I want so much... Thing is, I've got short & sparse lashes which I hate so I've spent an absolute fortune in the past couple of years finding something which makes my lashes look decent. Moisturisers from Clarins, Clinique etc to discover that the one that truly helps dry skin is the £4 organic one from Tesco which is more natural than any of the expensive stuff, well worth the expensive £4 price tag :D Hair Volumisers... I have thick but straight & unvolumed hair. Spend a fortune. Basically, my weakness is beauty stuff. Foodwise, I get whats on offer.

I like to think that the God intervention is more of a confidence for some people than others by the merits of their upbringing. It is completely different for everyone. Also the level of God belief becomes enhanced over the holidays. The magic is making the best out of what you have. If there is any magic out of our control, then bring it on.

God didn't use "magic". he spoke.

"The reality is so much better than the mythology."

i'll agree with this statement, but i think your idea of reality is a little skewed.

God did not need to use magic. He knew how to arrange the atoms. He set up a natural process of being born from a mother.
I don't care much for mythology either.

Once upon a time there was this big mass of hydrogen. Then one day, it just blew up, and shazam! The ordered universe appeared!
Seems logical.
Nothing irrational about that.
