My best friend married her ex-boyfriend's brother. That was 12+ years ago. The ex-bf/brother is also now married with a family of his own.
Still, it would be good to wait a while to be sure that the younger brother has had time to get over hurt feelings and has moved on with his life. The older brother should approach him first, and ask for his approval before you two start anything.

Providing your breakup was amicable, I can't see a problem. You have not specified just how long ago you and the younger brother broke up, so it is difficult to answer. If you broke up recently, you have the option of telling the older brother you would prefer to wait a few weeks, or failing that go out with him secretly, but there is always the chance that the younger brother could find out. You really need to be more specific about your situation.

well there are a few things to consider. like for example, if you and the ex didnt have that serious of a relationship and it didnt last that long, and you like his brother more than you ever liked the ex, and you actually see something serious happening between you two, then i guess it would be ok. but if maybe you are confusing flattery with stronger feelings, then you should think about things twice. cus if this thing with the older brother turns out to be nothing more than a physical thing, then you are going to earn yourself a bad rep. so think it over girl, a hot guy is not worth bending the rules for!

Unless you are the most selfish person in the world, NO! If not then at least wait a little while b/f you do, like when he's completely over you, and also ask, out of respect, ask him if hes ok with it.

It's really not a good idea, and I think that this might possibly be your intuition tell you that. Always listen to it throughout your life - it's your friend.
There's a very noble quality in being concerned about others, and it sounds like you have a good heart and a lot of sense. God bless you.

Hell no! You cannot come between brothers. You will have nothing but problems for yourself, and cause problems within his family. I really don't think you want to go there if you think about it. Also remember when it comes down to it, he will always choose his family over you.

No, it's not okay to date his brother, or anyone in his family for that matter. Not even a friend of his. It's just very disrespectful to him.

Dating a friend or relative of someone you used to date is beyond tacky and only acceptable if you live in a trailer park.
