I know someone who is about 50 years old who sits there and hugs and kisses a dog and talks to it like a baby. Is there any Christians who have the courage to not be afraid of sinners and the devil and speak up against perversion like this. I want to know if there are any real Christians out there? Because if you don't think there is something wrong with that, then you are not saved.

Having and loving pets like dog is not a sin from God. It has no prohibition on the bible about it.

And there is nothing worng about the hugging and kissing of the pet doand although the dog could not talk as a man, you can say words to him and tell him something which you want to tell. There is no evil spirit involved in that way.

However, if you will have a sexual relationship with your dog or any animal pet, that is another story. You may commit sin against God because animals are not for humans for sexual satisfaction. Man is for woman and woman is for a man while a female dog is for a male dog, vice versa.

The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands.

God gave us govern over all the animals on the earth. It is our job to protect them, whether they be domestic animals or wild.

I am a christian, my father was a preacher before he passed away, and never once did I ever hear that it was wrong to have love a pet.

My mother has a cat that follows her all over the house. It has been great company to her since daddy died.

When my grandmother died, grandpa received a dog as a pet. This dog became a companion in lonliness. I think my grandpa would have died of lonliness if not for that dog. And by the way the dog died 2 weeks after grandpa did, she lay in front of the fireplace and never ate again.

I don't say to cherish a pet more than a human being.

Ooh, time for someone to mind their own damn business! Keep your nasty, negative opinions to yourself!

Didn't your mother ever tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say, then dont' say anything at all"?

You have a demented way of thinking and interpreting your Bible. I'm not a Christian so to speak, but I know damn well that the Bible only talks about sexual activities with animals.

If you can't open your heart to care for an otherwise helpless animal, or to see the potential positives a pet can bring to your life then I feel sorry for you.

Did you know that statistics show that people who own pets live longer (on average)? Ever heard of pet therapy? Ever met a human who gave such unconditional love even after being thrown out in the streets and left for dead?

Good grief!

You know some people don't have anyone. I know a woman who is now in a nursing home. She doesn't have family. She has some half brothers and sisters out of the west coast. She use to take in animals, have them spayed and neutered, and all shots up to date and have them adopted out. The city allowed her to keep 10 cats in her home. They inspected it once a year. Those cats were her family.
She had to move to a retirement hotel and was allowed to bring one cat. Member from her church took her cat and had it put down. The manager of the retirement hotel (also a member of her church) told me he really didn't want her to bring the cat there anyway, even though the hotel rules allow the residents to have a pet. How dare you to consider her love for her animals as a perversion.
Like most people who dearly love their pets, she was a woman who was always doing for others. She had a way of lookiing out after throw-away people, also Most people who love their animals are the first to care about God's people.
After her cat was put down, she had a heart attack. She was already suffering some feeble mindedness but taking away Kookoo really sent her down hill.
I have 3 cats and a dog. I had one cat when I had to have her put down I was very depressed for a long time. Still I allowed a woman to move into my house who had absolutely no place to turn. She died in 2001. In the past few years another woman who is a little simple had to go to a Women's Shelter after she made the mistake of letting two strangers move in with her. She had just lost her mother and she was very lonely. The 2 women treated her miserably, almost destroyed her house. She had to leave the Women's Shelter and she came to stay with me. She evacuated with me to my stepmother's. She is a person that cannot do enough for anybody and she loves animals. She is back in her house and took a stray kitten home and bottle fed it. Someone gave her another kitten. Those 2 cats are her family. She is a good church member and participates in her Baptist Church. I am Catholic and also am active in my Church.
People who usually have no feelings for animals have no feelings for people.
It sounds to me like you are the one that is suffereing from a serious perversion.

At 2Samuel 12:1-3 - the prophet Nathan tells King David of a man who owned a female lamb that served as a family pet and ate from the man's table, drank from his cup and rested in his bosom. There was nothing wrong in this.

Humans need an outlet for their love. Many people who are old and infirm can not socialize like they should and so a pet is good for them. It does not matter how they talk to their pet as long as they do not put their pet above God or humans. They are company for them. God made animals originally to be our companions. You do make a point when people put animals above humans though when they don't have to be. Young people who do not have children so they can donate their time to their animals is kind of disgusting but, the elderly or like a widow or widower -- I say thank God they have that animal.

What's perverted about loving your pet? God created animals for food, work and to love as pets. Where did you get your ridiculous notion that a person showing affection for a beloved pet is a sin before God? Yes, I am a Christian-blood washed! You need to see a "real" Christian about your way of thinking. You will be in my prayers.

I am a Christian that will speak out.But ,I am not sure what you mean by loving pet.Bestiality is most defiantly a sin.Having a pet you love is not.
Kissing a animal is just nasty, not a sin.
I am saved, but if you can get me a verse that talks about ,loving a pet ,I really would like to see it.I have 2 dog, cat, fish, bird, turtle.Love them all.But I don't kiss them.<><

I believe that it is a sin to put an animal over a person. Loving your pet is fine, but I know that some people do extreme things with their animals, which is not good and is a sin. But I love my dog. I scratch his back, play with him and talk to him. But I would not put my mouth to his to kiss him. He licks my hands and sometimes, when he is all excited to see me he runs and licks me and even try to jump up and lick my face, but that's it. I am not here to judge any one's salvation on the basis of what they believe is wrong or right. I leave that to God.

ummm, why is that a sin? I think you are supposed to love and respect all things created by God...including animals. I know women who can't have kids, so they have animals. I think that perhaps you should worry about starvation, the divorce rate, and hatred. I think that you are sparking bad feelings for no reason. I think that someone who can care about an animal so much, probley has a great capacity for caring about human life as well.
